I am in too! Mary please help keep me honest. :-/

Good timing. After weirdly cooler and rainy weather, hot summer has arrived. I had stocked up on some washable tops. On my day off i planned to clear things out to create an area just for an " August capsule" to make dressing easier. Good time to rest through the fashion doldrums& I'm not in the mood for wool sweaters and such.

No real paycheck until the end of Sept., so I'm with ya!

I have had a huge July ... lots of returns, but even still, many new things (some still to share, as I am waiting for them to arrive). I have no choice but to jump on the bandwagon and stay there. Count me in.

I'm in - My July buys should tide me over for at least a month!

I do believe is possible, especially when , like you , you have such a great wardrobe to begin with.
Personally I might be buying one or two items in August already thinking about Fall but I will try to be mindful and budget conscious.
Looking forward to see your fab month of August.

I'd love to be in for this, but I also have a trip planned to Washington, DC and there will be so many shopping options! I don't plan on buying a lot, but I have a feeling I might cave in...

I think it is possible. For myself, I believe I'll be in Gigi's camp... though if I end up joining you, that will be a nice surprise.

I might be focussing on Athletic this August, my gym togs are wearing thin ;-).

Mary...do you ever look at "The Gardener's Cottage" blog? I think she has it down...the perfect balance.

I'm in - this whole summer I've been spending ahead when tracking my budget. This morning I calculated my running balance after all the NAS orders, and even with some planned returns I've already spent my August money, and it's not even August yet! Time to take a step back and stop buying for a while. In fact, I may go SYC until the fall equinox, as that seems like a good official start to fall for me.

I am in after NAS ( and other items). I am set for summer and early fall wardrobe so no need to buy anything in August.

I'm in! My only exception will be if my favorite bra goes on deep discount in Nude.

I am in. I need to make do with my wardrobe and save fashion dollars for the post baby capsule.

I intend to sit out in August, but the minute I saw no shopping, I find amazing things. The month will bring visits from friends who will want to shop, so temptation. A trip is planned to the city with my very favorite consignment shop where I usually find something special. I will want to look. More temptation.
I will commit to practicing PPP and aiming for only very great buys, if any.

True to my word, I bought great yoga and power walk stuff at the Athleta and Lucy sale today - like I said I would. My workout wear capsule is set for a good long while. That stuff is SUCH good quality I find. It lasts forever.

No-buy August will begin for me today.

Angie, I love the Athleta workout wear, too! I swear, switching to the Athleta workout knickers changed my life!!

Hah. Fun Mary. I saw those. They looked great. But fell in love with these:

And some Lucy stuff too:

Fab, fab, fab! I've never heard of Lucy before, but those pieces are great And I love the bright colors you picked from Athleta!

So, I have a very packed August. So I probably won't even have a chance to venture into the stores. Also given my schedule and the kind of summer we're having I will not have a chance to wear anything new until September.
Plus right now, I not even sure what I do want for Fall.
So, uh a tentative yes from me.

I spent 10 minutes this morning unsubscribing from all of my email alerts from retailers. I'm actually quite looking forward to the reduced mental clutter of waking up to 10-30 promotional emails each day.

Count me in! I purchased plenty of goodies at NAS this year and August is still summer clothing for me, which at this point in the season is set and churning along rather well, so no reason not to save a few pennies for a month.

I'm in too. I didn't end up keeping a whole lot from NAS (3 sweaters and a pair of booties) but I've bought things elsewhere too so all together July has been a huge month for purchases. I'm sure I've spent every bit of my August budget so a break from shopping/spending sounds like a great plan. And I have plenty, both for the remaining days of summer AND fall.

Eh... Can I have a sweater and pencil skirt in August? And my HEWI summer coat, should it magically manifest this year?

It is a great idea. I am planning a shopping trip in August. I live far away (3 hours) from decent shopping and I refuse to do online shopping (Canadians get hit too hard with duties, etc.) I am starving for shopping because I live far from retail (this is new for me) and there has been a scarcity of brown available. So.........I am going to go nuts in a couple of weeks.

I'll join in as well. After being in a version of @carter's camp for a while, I feel I've reset my closet for the better with my buys this year and I'll stand pat
for a bit.

I have one identifiable wardrobe hole still, but...I can probably work around it for now. In fact, I might try to wait all the way through until the Seattle meetup to consider any purchases.

Window shopping in person and online I will still be up for. I can handle it.

So many wise plans here!

As I have confessed in Off Topic, I have given up clothes shopping for the moment because I am spending a gigantic boatload of money on a new house!! (*cough* new appliances this weekend *cough*)

But I must say it is lovely to have a fab wardrobe to fall back on while I concentrate on other things...

I think it's absolutely possible! I'm not sure I have the discipline to join you lol. I will give it due consideration and get back to you x

Congrats on the new house, Mary! You must be super excited. New appliances are just as fun as new shoes.

I'm in - you got me with the alliterative play on words in your subject line I am a sucker for clever lines that I can repeat to myself when I see a tempting item in store!
