another floral tunic/dress attempt & anorak

I'm still trying pack for my trip. I can't seem to let go of the floral tunic that got so so reviews before. I think it's the pattern, which I think is great. Here's the picture I posted originally.

I have also been trying to figure out how to layer with these longer length tops in case the weather is a bit colder. I got this anorak at Kohls. I'm not sure about it. It also isn't long enough to reach the length I need, I think. (Excuse the fact that I'm just wearing leggings. I was too lazy to put something else on. I would not be wearing it this way out and about.) Thoughts on this jacket? Other ideas?

Alecia, I like the tunic with leggings and bloused more, but it's not a 10. I'd probably rate it a 7. It seems to make you look wide in the photos, and I don't care for the sleeve length. The pattern is great and maybe it looks more flattering in r/l.

I agree with Joy, I like it best with the leggings and bloused a bit. I don't think it's the print, I think it's the cut. But I'm not tunic savvy (yet) so I'm curious what others think.

Alecia, I like it best with the leggings. It's a fun pattern. I personally don't care for it over the skinnies, even bloused.

The anorak looks a little short for layering over a tunic, I agree. I'm not having any luck with my eye adjusting to this look yet so I'm going to pass on giving any other feedback...sorry!

I like the tunic best a la Laura with skinnies and lower belt. I think it looks great.
The anorak looks a bit gear-ish to me.

Ok. ok. I think I get it. The floral tunic/dress thing doesn't work. I'm inclined to return it for something else. I plan to do that on Thursday so any other feedback between now and then is appreciated.

I am also inclined to return the anorak. I just don't know what to do in its place. How do others do a warmth layer with longer tunics?

My dear Alecia, returning the tunic gets my vote too. I am bothered by the shorter lining that makes the hem see through. You can find something better!

Alecia, I actually like the colors of the tunic, but I won't try to talk you out of returning it. As far as the top layer, I usually wear a trench or a longer anorak. I think you can also make it work with a shorter layer like a moto jacket, but it's trickier and I haven't tried it.
