Angie's fall

Angie how did you fall and sprain your ankle? Is it a bad sprain? We are concerned about your condition. Is your ankle all bruised and swollen?

I didn't know Angie fell! A sprained ankle is very painful- hope it's not a sprain- maybe Greg will have to wait on you - bring you a nice cuppa!

Thanks for the compassion San and Lisa. It was so silly. I fell down our own flight of stairs! I was rushing, tripped, and went flying down about half a flight, and landed with hard impact on our wooden floors, spraining my left ankle. The cuppa I was holding went flying and Jasmine and Rosie came running to my rescue. There was tea everywhere. The pain grew worse as the hours went by so off I went to ER *eyes rolling*.

Anyway, I’m house bound for a while. Doing well. Nothing broken. Just bruised and swollen. My 38th year is off to a wobbly start.

Oh, Angie, that sounds like something I would do! I'm an accident waiting to happen! Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Isn't it cute the way dogs want to come help? I'm sorry you fell and hurt more than your pride, but I'm glad it wasn't more serious. Try to enjoy the down time because it sounds like you don't get much of that. When one of my kids get sick and I take the day off to stay home with them--I feel guilty because I'm enjoying the unexpected day off and the opportunity to spend the day on the couch cudding with one of my kids.

My dearest Angie, I am so sorry to hear about this! I hope that you are doing better and that it is not a serious sprain. I had a extremely similar experience 2.5 years ago ( the stairs outside were icy and I was carrying a basket full of laundry)
that resulted in nasty ankle sprain that made me stop my ballroom dancing. I can imagine pretty closely how you must be feeling.

I can offer some advice if you are up for it, but we should wait till it calms down. You should rest a lot and they probably already told you to ice it a lot. Once the pain wares off, you could ask for a MRI, that would show if the tissue is hopefully only swollen or torn ( hopefully and probably that did not happen). Get better soon! And if you are bored, you could always come join our future YLF Boston Tea Party that we should plan now :)

Jasmine has just had leg surgery and still came hobbling to my rescue. It warms my heart. This household is a little decrepit at the moment. But quite right, the rest is good timing.

Thanks for the advice and good wishes, Tanya. I’m icing as I type. Sorry your sprain caused a temporary break from dancing. Icy stairs are wretched. I’ve had a few close calls there too. We want to hear all about your Boston Tea Party (nice one).

Oh Angie, I've done that too! I wish you some lovely relaxation while you heal quickly...you and the pup.

Ouch ouch! I've had a few sprained ankles - believe it or not playing soccer on wet grass is not a good idea. ;) I hope your heals quickly and you get some extra care from Greg and your pups.

How adorable that they both came running to your rescue!

I hope you get better soon. I know that we have similar go-go-go personalities, and I can imagine how eager I would be to get off that couch. Take the time to catch up on a few good books! (and cuddle with the puppies)

Sorry to hear! Hope it's not too bad. Get lots of rest. ;o)

Angie, I hope you feel better soon. icing is a great idea! and Ibuprofen is another must...
When I sprained my ankle, I used it as an excuse to catch up on my movies. Let me know if you need anything - perhaps some nutella dip? ;-)
hugs, take care.
