I wear red lippie when I wear red, or over the US holiday period at night. Otherwise, my choice of lip colour is still very soft.

When I was younger a clear gloss was all that I needed because I think my lips had a lot of natural color in them. Now that I am older (60) I have lost that natural tint and wear lipstick more often. I find the 2 colors that I wear the most are Clinique Almost Lipstick in Black Honey and Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle. These are my "pick me up" colors that really restore the glow in my face - this is the best way I can describe it.

Great thread, I went from nothing to chap-stick to burtsbees? to browns and earth-tones when I do wear them lipsticks or lip glosses. I've not invested at all. Usually I can find them for a couple of $$ at the beauty supply stores.

I just bought another red lipstick this weekend. And red eyeshadow

Hmm. Mercy. I liked a frosty peachy pink thing in the 80s. It was sheer tho, not the white out kind of frosted. And also a sheer red plum. A little later in the 80s, doing the whole 9 yards, it was bright blinding fuschia. In the 90s or 00s, I went for a neutral not nude lip. Then properly into the new millennium, I went for natural / nude: a rosy kind of blush. Now I'm back to the neutral, browns really. Red I have always saved for my Femme Fatale moments going to the ballet. Ballet - not symphony or opera

I have never been much of a red lip wearer, and that hasn't changed with age. I would like to find some intense shade that I like though, so that I could wear that even when I don't have much other make up on.

I love my Chanel Rouge Coco Roussy lipstick which is a pretty coral-pink with just the right amount of brightness, not too bright and not too soft. I also like rose, pink and berry shades, as well. Anything too dark and my lips look thin and I think I look drawn and tired.

Excellent subject, Deb, and I was about to write Meredith who brought up some natural makeup choices, as I tried a few of hers, with great results and I wanted to ask her if she was aware of any natural lip stains that had color and staying power.

I subscribe to a couple of makeup boxes and have gotten a lot of lip colors. It has really helped me get out of a rut from my everyday pale pink. Still haven't found a full on red that I think looks good on me but the search goes on. I love the idea of a red lip at any age.
