Q&A about individual items, ensembles, and wardrobe

A terrylfic moment (and more hair cut pics)

Ever since I got off the night shift, I've gotten in the habit of planning my next day's outfits just before going to sleep (at 4:30 a.m., I have no brain power to spare). When deciding what to wear tomorrow, I realized the entire outfit was comprised of things I would most certainly not have in my closet if it weren't for YLF! I have a hunch this won't get the coveted killer rating because I'm wearing a blouse instead of a knit top with this skirt, but I sincerely hope I'll pass. If not, please say so (I'll be checking this before I get dressed)!

These pictures also include a shot of the elusive pewter wedges I finally found for myself, plus the promised closeups of my hair cut.

Does the top look too big? I had to have it taken in and shortened, perhaps I should have done more?

Skirt + sandals: http://s709.photobucket.com/al.....8;newest=1
Please tell me if these sandals accentuate my huge ankles too much. Honestly.

So is this a conventional or inverted bob?

KILLER!!!

That outfit is perfection. The yellow is perfect for your complexion, and the fit of the shirt is heaven. The skirt is amazing (and I am imagining you will get a lot of mileage out of it!). The necklace - love! And those shoes... those shoes... double LOVE! Are they comfy?

I would say the haircut is more of a conventional bob. You have such a pretty forehead (envy). It is hitting right at the level of your lips, which I am just noticing are nicely shaped. Are you finding it easy to work with? How does it feel to you?

I think this is my favorite outfit you have posted so far. I would snatch up that outfit for myself in a second.

Two thumbs up from me! The whole outfit works together perfectly. The top looks like a good size to me.

Love your sandals. I don't think your ankles are too huge!

Your haircut suits your face very well. You are looking very sharp Michelle! Can't wait to see what you put together with all your NAS stuff.

You look so good! You're motivating me to try skirts and dresses. You look awesome in that skirt! Perfect summer outfit.

The only thing that I would suggest (and maybe this is just me), but the yellow blouse is a bit sheer... can you wear a white cami under it? I'm still new at this, but that's what caught my eye.

You're beautiful!

OMG...You are an inspiration. You truly look beautiful.:) Your outfit is perfection !!

Your cut is neither conventional bob, or a-line, (reverse, or any other catchy name) however it is adorable and perfect for you!

JEALOUS! That skirt length, by the by, could not be better on you. Seriously, I think it hits the ideal point on your legs. Go, Michelle!

Thanks for the pics, Michelle! You look so, SO PRETTY. A KILLER rating from me too, sweet pea. From top to toe. You wear a strand of chunky pearls like no one’s business. WOW! You have that old movie star quality. You lucky lass :0)

The leggings outfit and this one are the best outfits I’ve seen you in so far. You go girl! Now lets get you sorted for the wedding in Aug. Ex-boyfriend has got to be blown way. Perhaps Maya can help you with the vintage wrap when she sees you?

Michelle, you look absolutely gorgeous and of-the-moment in the grey and yellow combination. Stellar!

A wedding where an ex shows up? That is going to be fun! You need to look incredible. I can hardly wait to see what you & Angie cook up :)

WOW!! Guys, I really didn't expect that level of feedback, but it made my day! Thank you so much! I wore the outfit with confidence yesterday and felt great despite the fact the sandals are still breaking in! :)
Shiny, Maya and San: They're not brulees, as that shoe was a little too narrow and dainty for my yetti-feet. These are Kenneth Cole Reaction, but I have no clue which style name It is. I wish I did know for future reference! If they look familiar to someone, let me know. :) Fun fact: these were the shoes that some salesperson told me were gold, which of course later proved to be pewter, and took a month to be shipped from the west coast to Toronto (which is patently absurd in this day and age)! I'm extra grateful for the endorsements, as I now feel they were worth the wait!
Marianna: Thanks for the complement. And you should definitely try skirts and dresses! They're comfortable and versatile, will often get YLF approval, and can change up your wardrobe without compromising your casual, unfussy vibe!

Laura: See my thread on "accesssorizing for a wedding" to see the ex-boyfriend-worthy dress I have in mind. Which reminds me, time to go to the gym (the look must be about more than the clothes)! :p

Oh and Angie, the wedding happens the day before I go to NJ, so I'm on my own to track down this wrap. Any online suggestions?

You look FANTASTIC Michelle! Wow, your new haircut, the skirt and those pretty sandals- it all just works!

Thank you for sharing this with us Michelle! I'm in total agreement with what has been said. This is a FANTASTIC outfit! Your hair looks absolutely beautiful. And Angie is right, those pearls are super!

Perhaps you could start a separate thread for your wrap, you'll get more suggestions that way.

Michelle, another thumbs up for your outfit and haircut.

I would recommend a cami for the blouse (if it's not too hot). The blouse looks pretty sheer in the pics, but take this with a grain of salt because I know that flash photography can do weird things to clothes. I'm sorry, I'm of no help here, and probably added more doubts for you. Your outfit really is terrific. Also, not only does the skirt fit you incredibly well, it also has a killer pattern (looks like a slanted abstract floral to me).

You wear chunky pearls SO WELL. I totally second Angie's opinion that you look like an "old Hollywood" movie star. :)

Michelle, I am super late to this thread, but just want to say that I ADORE your bob. Looks like you have a great stylist who knows how to highlight your pretty face!

Michelle - I echo the compliments already shared but wanted to make sure I said that too. Way to go. I love your outfit and your hair and really like how you wear pearls.
