It has been really cold this week (cold and grey and gloomy for the most part, plus the heating does not seem to be on either at work or at home yet, so it's quite chilly indoors too), so shorts and skirts need tights.

1-3: 10.08.12 - I had columbus day off, plus I needed some retail therapy after a bad Sunday, so I decided to spend the afternoon shopping. I wore my slouchy short shorts over patterned tights, and paired them with a voluminous cropped handknit sweater on top. I finally got my favorite boots back from the cobbler (he did a good job but was soooo slooooow) and was happy to wear them (the heels are level again, hooray!). I added my short floral cape on top, which was fun although I think I should have switched the blue layering tee under the sweater to something that did not clash so much with the cape. Got a random compliment from a salesgirl in Neiman Marcus on the outfit.

handknit sweater, H&M tee, Anthro cape, BCBGeneration shorts, ??? tights, DV boots

4-6: 10.10.12 - I bought this skirt on sale at Anthro on the aforementioned shopping trip on Columbus Day. It's a rare pencil that fits me almost perfectly (although I did have to go a size up) and I love the print. The material is rather light and summery but I think I made it work for colder weather with opaque tights and layers on top. You can't see them in the photo, but the coral top actually has tiny white polka dots as well. I really felt my dressy bootie/oxford wardrobe hole today by the way - I think something with a heel might have worked better than my Arlettas.

Yoana Baraschi skirt, Tulle cardigan, BR top, Born Arletta oxfords, ??? tights, Macys bracelet.
