WIW...more daytime velvet

The wide leg velvet trousers are working out very well. They are as easy and comfortable as sweat pants, but work appropriate on cold grey days. The velvet burnout top is ancient, but I still love it. I’m tempted to wear the velvet top and bottoms together, but it seems too ‘dressy’ for work. Maybe for an evening out?

#1 Peach lace tank, velvet trousers-Winners, satin embroidered jacket-Zara, Pewter pointy toe flats-Halogen/Nordstroms

#2 Navy button down-BR, Black booties-Town Shoes

#3 Velvet burn out top, cuffed ankle pants-Reitmans, black booties-Town Shoes

I like how the pussy bow tie used as a belt in #2 elongates the torso with the high waist trousers.

I love both of these. The pants look great with your silver shoes peeking out and I love them with the shirt in pic #2.

#1 is definitely my favorite. It’s happy and elegant but not too formal. On #3, I feel like something’s missing. Maybe a necklace or belt?

I agree with Robin that the silver shoes are great. Are you wearing a different pair in 2 & 3, or is the light just hitting them differently?

ETA: Sisi’s comment made me look again. I see now that #3 has velvet burnout I didn’t notice the first time through. Strike my earlier comment. I bet this is elegant and awesome irl.

I like these pieces! The zipped jacket, the silver shoes, the tee. The pants seem to have a perfect fit. By "top" do you mean the jacket or the tee? (sorry, not English mother tongue here).

These are all great. I’m sure the sheen of the jacket and texture of the pants in 1 looks so rich in person. 2 is my favorite, though!

I love your pants so much that I am looking for a pair for myself. I agree though that wearing velvet on velvet might be a bit much for the office. An evening out .... or at home .... just because.

Sisi, “top” usually refers to a shirt or blouse. “Toppers” are outer layers worn on top of other things, like cardigans or jackets. In this case, the “burn-out top” is the tee in #3.

Fashiontern, thank you, but for some strange reason the first time I opened the post the part that describes the outfits was not visible, that's why I was not sure which was the "top". Same thing just happened with Chris 987's post.

The best way I can describe burnout is that part of the fabric is thin compared to the rest of the fabric. Examples in velvet and cotton below.

I love the bow/belt in #2. Is this meant to be work as a tie with the shirt and you repurposed it? This was a great way to change up the look by using it as a belt instead!

Love, love, love #2. All are great, but that blouse looks so good. I envy the way you wear button fronts. I’ve been looking for a good velvet t, fitted not so boxy as this years models seem to. But can’t seem to find a petite that looks as good as yours.

#2 is outstanding. I agree with Fashiontern that #3 needs some jewelry. Great jacket in #1.

Gorgeous and polished as every! Velvet loves you. #2 is brilliant on you (and clever, with the tie!). I think the two velvet pieces would definitely work together, especially since they'll read as different textures with the one being burnout. Not sure about whether it'll feel too dressy for work but could be fun for a party or night out for sure ^^

The top in #3 doesn't photograph well. Below is a pic taken up close with an iPhone! I wore the green striped socks, also. They don't show in pic #3 due to the angle, but a bit show in the gap between booties and pant hem.

However, I'm getting the message loud and clear about button downs!
