This is what I wore to a friend of DH’s wedding.
The dress is part of my “wedding uniform” and has worked for several weddings.
-Purple dress, Ralph Lauren
-Black velvet jacket, Tahari
-Black microfishnets, DKNY, super comfortable and do not dig into the soles of the feet, thanks, Angie for the recommendation of microfishnets.
-Smoke brush color Paul Greens, very comfortable.
-Black velvet clutch. A clutch with gold color would have been better but I don’t have one. I wore a gold bracelet to hopefully tie in the color of the shoes.

The dress and jacket are quite beautiful alone but shoe&fishnet choice is elevating them even more!Wow!

Your best outfit of the year, Joyce.

I LOVE the contrast created by the hose and shoes. Much more interesting and 2017, then wearing black shoes here.

Beautiful, Joyce! What a great dressy "uniform." It's nice to have something on hand for special occasions that you look and feel so fab in.

I would have liked black shoes too but the gold shoes are more dressed up personal life than black, which might look more business party than wedding.

I did see the gold bracelet so I think that was a good connector that could be reinforced with even a just gold chain strap black bag rather than a gold bag.

The dress and jacket combination is very pretty and the fit is perfect.

Lovely, Joyce! I quite like the lighter shoes, a bit more unexpected and a nice lightness to go with the sheer look of the hosiery.

Very pretty! Purple is a great color for you. Before YLF I never would have worn lighter shoes with dark hose, but I quite like how this looks.

-MsMary, thank you, I always admire your style, you know how to make your outfits fabulous and happy looking.

-Angie, Suz, Aida, Dianna and Karen13, I would have not thought of wearing my gold toned shoes with the black microfishnets. I always had an aversion to black fishnets with my very pale skin and combining those with the light colored shoes was unthinkable before.
I just followed Angie’s advice, all the credit goes to her. I was going to wear black shoes with black stockings or gold shoes but not sure about the stockings.
Angie suggested black microfishnets and when I tried them the effect was much more interesting than I had anticipated plus I felt comfortable in them. Angie definitely knows what suits you best before you know it yourself. I am glad I followed her advice.

-Isabel, I will be looking for a black clutch with a gold chain, that is a great suggestion.

-Firecracker, my wedding capsule keeps me out of trouble but I may need to start looking to add another dress to it. I wish I had your skills so that I could design and sew my own.

A question for Angie, if you get to see it,
and for anyone who may know:
Did the black microfishnets work with the gold shoes just because it is late Fall and the light of the season is dim? It probably would not work in Spring of Summer, is that right?

Well, thank you for giving the suggestion a go, sweet Joyce. (Sheer black hoseiry is as nice with metallic shoes - very '70s, and see pic).

The combination can absolutely work in Spring and Summer, but won't look as "seasonally correct", IYKWIM. Not that THAT is a problem. But nude hosiery looks great in those warmer and sunnier months.

Thanks for chiming back in, Angie. That’s what I was thinking, that black may look harsh when the light is brighter in Spring and Summer.
You look lovely in the picture with the gorgeous dress, black sheers and metallic shoes. It’s nice to have both options, black sheers and microfishnets. I almost copied your dress but returned it because I don’t have too many opportunities to wear it.
