Hope you're all well!

It's finally cold enough to be Fall here in India. And while I do hate the cold in some ways (who doesn't, right?) I do love easy fall outfits.

Back when I joined the forum, I was on a quest to hone-up my casual dressing style, as that is what suits my real lifestyle. I'm finding out that dressing casually in fall/winter clothes comes more naturally to me.

Here are two outfits I wore this week.

#1-3: Plaid shirt with grey ponte pants and tall boots. I added the slouchy cardigan on top when I stepped out to buy some groceries, though I can see myself adding a long black jacket/coat to this outfit once it cools down more.

#4-6: A simple pink sweater, blue bootcut jeans and a printed scarf. This is why I was excited to wear bootcuts & flares! I like sweaters at this length and have quite a few....they never did look great with skinny jeans and always needed either a long tee underneath, or a long topper over them. With bootcut jeans, I like the length as it is....

Thanks for looking. As always, all comments/inputs/criticisms are welcome. I'd also love to hear what you'd do differently with such an outfit, if you'd be so kind to indulge me

Thanks Rute! It used to be my favourite color when I was younger. But then black took over my closet I'm trying to slowly add a little pink & purple again

You look wonderful and I love how you incorporate pink into both outfits, the plaid and the sweater. It is a very flattering color on you. I had a little light bulb moment when you explained your rationale for the shorter sweater in #2. Aha! It makes perfect sense. Beautiful scarf, too,

Oh you ladies all made my day <3 I had a pretty hectic day otherwise....but you all just made me smile! Thank you thank you thank you!

I think Maneera needs to embrace pink! Funnily, most of my wardrobe used to be pinks & purples in my early 20s. A lot of ppl told me that I looked great in pink.

Then I got married, and a lot of my wardrobe became black & grey & navy! While I do have some pinks, I wish I had some more. Pink (and the pink family) are HAPPY colors for me Glad you'll approve!

@Kellygirl - I'm so happy to hear we're Fall/Winter twins! I do love your effortless style

@ Suzie - I'm glad you like scarves too! They're a life-saver for me. Unlike my super wardrobe (which happens to be full of prints), my winter wardrobe consists primarily of solid colors. Scarves are a great way to add some print into the mix.

@Joy - sadly I've never tried tucking in the shirt, but you've made me wonder if that could add more structure to the look. I'll definitely try next time....thanks for the idea!

@ abc - bootcuts are a curvy gal's best friends! I'm glad you got some too....they look fabulous with shorter sweaters, don't they? When in doubt of proportions, I wear bootcut jeans

@Elizabeth - I so know what you mean! I thought of purging a lot of shorter sweaters last winter, but thankfully held on to favourites. Now they work so well with both skirts and bootcut jeans. Phew! I'd be nervous too from now on. I think a good mantra would be to purge all that's distressed and worn out, but hold onto other things until the new season, Incase trends see a drastic change.

@Dee - I love plaid but sadly don't have too much. I do love this shirt though....I've worn it a lot in the last 2 years.

@Deborah - I swear these sweaters felt 'odd' with skinny jeans. But this length works so perfectly with bootcuts, doesn't it? If you've got shorter sweaters too, try bootcuts & flares this season!

@Diane - thank you darling. After the long 'boot conversation' we had yesterday, I knew you'd notice these

@Lucy & Sterling - so glad you guys think I look good in pink. I had this moment when I *almost* bought a magenta-pink coat (I've seen quite a few forum members with pink/fushia/cranberry coats) but I wasn't sure that I can commit to THAT MUCH color. I prefer adding just a hint of color through sweaters & scarves and keep more substantial pieces in neutral colors.

Love the soft color palette for the plaid and the twinset -- it makes fall layers seem fresh and feminine. And you're right, although I've not thought about it before, hip length sweaters are made for bootcuts.

I like both looks alot. You suit the bootcuts very well (note to self - get a pair!).

You also suit pink and purple - I also went off it for a while and am now back into pink!

Changes - maybe I would wear the scarf either longer or shorter...maybe - just an idea. It looks good as is but I would be interested to see it worn in different ways.

Wow, you look absolutely amazing. First, may I please comment on your hair, which is looking particularly sleek, sharp, and modern and which complements these outfits beautifully.

LOVE you in the plaid shirt and ponte pants and agree with Angie that the long sweater makes it extra special.

I also really, really love the bootcuts outfit. I agree that knits this length work really nicely with flares or wider bootcuts. Especially if there is some fluidity to them. Very flattering yet easy and comfortable.

Nice! I like the plaid shirt with the non-denim pants. It's slightly unexpected. You look good in color and remind me that my winter wardrobe has gone to the neutrals and needs a shot of some color.

Wow, your hair is do fab in nr 1! Love me the plaid shirt with the leggings, and easy uniform, and you cannot go wrong layering over it, like you did in nr 3. Pink sweater, scarf and bootcuts is a softer, more feminine look-and we need that one, too:-).

I think the changes you have made in your style are subtle but powerful and effective. I love how simple but polished all these looks are and they each highlight one of your best features, which in my opinion is your beautiful face and smile. The colors are perfect, I love the proportions, etc. Your hair looks great.
