WIW to work color photo challenge Day 6

First and foremost I want to that you all for helping me feel confident enough to post pictures. I will admit to a certain amount of trepidation at first. You have all been so wonderfully supportive and helpful. I appreciate your candor and your encouragement.
I was up early. Absurdly early, so I had a chance to play with today’s outfit. The forecast was for a warmer day, but my classroom usually starts off the day cold, so layering was important.
Base layer:
Tan equestrian pants
Animal print jersey top

Additions
Shiny brown vest
Faux fur scarf
Jewelry
Brown booties.

Happiness factor = fur scarf

I had the vest and scarf on and off throughout the day. I am still studying the colors with my hair and skin.
What do you notice that works and what doesn’t?

I like a little dark in your outfits to bring out your eyes, which appear darker than your hair. The furry scarf is fab on you and blends well with your hair. I think the dark brown vest may be a bit too much dark, but it all looks co-ordinated. Do your students ever get upset with you for wearing "fur"? I had a couple that could not even tolerate an animal print like your top, but they were older.

Your outfit is very beatiful and it suits you so well! I like the colour combination on you very much, in particular the animal print and the faux fur scarf are lovely with your colours. I like the vest too and in this outfit is very nice indeed. Cute booties! Pants are great too!
It is clever to compose an outfit like you do for changing temperature indoors to be able to take some things on and off and everything works together in different versions.
Lovely jewelry as always! I cannot see the necklace though in the picture very well, what does it look like?
Finally a thought - wouldn’t the cream infinity scarf you wore yesterday also work with today’s outfit as a nice variation? Or am I wrong?

The genuine wearability of this outfit is what I like best. You look dressed for a real day that might include different events with a great balance between stylish and practical. I like the weather conscious inclusion of the vest and that it's darker is fine.

The combination of textures and patterns is really interesting and also the way you combined neutrals.

Joy, my eyes are a very dark brown. Until recently brown has been a go to color for me, but with the lighter hair I sometimes think it doesn’t look as well in a solid color. The vest is a lovely piece, but it is a lot of brown. Hahaha, no, my kids have never commented negatively about me wearing “fur”. They are adorable and compare me to soft, fuzzy kittens.

Thank you Angie. The equestrian pants are from Talbots. I love the fit, how they maintain their shape through a day full of movement. They wash and dry well and to my eye look great with both tall boots and booties. The style works well on me so I have collected them in dark olive, burgundy, the tan shown and a gray with a subtle herringbone pattern.

Katerina, I often prefer outfits with fewer components, but am always conscious of the forecast and conditions of the day. I find that being too hot, or too cold is very distracting. I have a lot more focus and fun when I am comfortable. The necklace didn’t photograph well at all. IRL I think it worked but in the pic, camouflage took over. Yes, the cream scarf would look great with the outfit. I think the fringe with the animal print would be fun!

Isabel, thank you. Working with little ones, my days are busy and often include meetings and playground duty. My outfits must work with me and require no fuss during the day. I don’t often have time to look in the mirror or make adjustments. My best options are to layer and plan for comfort without looking sloppy or frumpy.

Shevia, I was feeling maximal yesterday and I liked the last look the most, too. It made me feel a little fierce. Hee hee.

I think the whole thing looks totally fab and you could write one of those blog articles in "how to layer"! The colors look wonderful on you but of course brown might be a color who's versatility changes once you grow out your hair. Can you say abut more about those talbots pants? What is the style and fabric etc?

I love, love, love this. I agree with Shevia. This really is one of my favorites. And yes, it makes your hair shine. Perhaps you should start considering these colors are the foundation for your future wardrobe? Just a suggestion.

I really like this on you. The colors work very well. I prefer the vest open, but every version you showed here looks great and appears very flexible for changing temperatures and activities.

Chris the Talbots pants are incredible! They are a nice weight knit, and have beautiful details. They are slim fitting, but not tight. I’ll post a few pics below.

Sterling, your suggestion is a good one. I have usually worn darker earth tones, but I think some of the lighter neutral shades are working well right now.

Angie, fair warning! You will be seeing a lot of the equestrian pants. You can have the white ones. I love the look, but they are not wise choices for my work wardrobe.

Kkards, we get to enjoy 2 days of temps above freezing!! Wouldn’t you know, my new down puffer arrived today! Hahaha.

I love this outfit on you. Those pants are great. I can see why you bought multiples. Warm tones seem to suit you. I often have a hard time telling what colours work for someone looking at pictures. (I have a small laptop)

Thank you Style Fan. The pants are great! The first pair I bought at full price, but the others I have been able to purchase during some of Talbots great sales. It is sometimes hard to judge color on computers compared to IRL. Monitors and lighting conditions when the pic was taken can skew things.
