WIW: To kick some bootie

I kind of feel like a poseur in this jacket. DH says I look like the 45 yo soccer mom you don't want to mess with. Gotta love his honesty. Do I need to move on to a more "mature" jacket?

I don't know about more "mature" but maybe something more fitted and not as heavy looking? Although I would like to see this one over a tucked shirt. Love your tagline "to kick some bootie" btw

Well, I have two years on you and I love the jacket! But you need to be feeling it.

I actually think it looks good on you, but I'm not as crazy about how long the top underneath it is -- somehow I think that may be what's making this look just a bit top-heavy. But I have a leather jacket bias, so take my viewpoint for what it's worth!

This jacket is not intimidating at all. However I agree that a more fitted one might be more proportioned with your delicate body. I like this outfit.

I think it is totally appropriate - perhaps he is alluding to it not fitting your personality (as he sees it)?? I know there are times my BF turns his nose up at a look (hello red moto zip jeans with sequin tank) and says it's like an older lady trying too hard, but in reality it just seems incongruent with my disposition. Does that make sense?
For me, my leather jacket choices have either been the biker style in a ladylike color (blush) or the black color in a softer style (shearling ruffle collar). This suits my personality better. I am not a black biker jacket kind of gal. And that's okay.
I like this on you. Do you feel like 'you' in it? Then go forth and be fab!

to me this jacket is a clasic. I've had one forever. I dont like to wear mine with tops that are quite that long.

I think it looks great. Now if you had heavy studded boots, you might look like you were ready to kick butt but the jacket over that pretty deep pink is just right.

DH's sometimes don't get the look but they'll come around!

I think you look fab Kelly and really like the jacket. I wouldn't mind seeing something a little lighter and shorter underneath though, but this is good too.
