WIW to friends’ for dinner

First wear for this part wool pullover from Old Navy, one of my favorite colors, though it probably doesn’t flatter. I chose to wear a snowflake pin I got from Etsy. I’m not sure of the vintage but I like the weight and metal finish.

Weather is getting colder so I will be able to wear another couple of newer/rarely worn sweaters. Have a good, cozy week!

Thanks, Angie and Roberta. Yes, I think it’s chartreuse, and maybe acid but not a very sour or sharp acid. Such nuances when it comes to color descriptions, right? I had a citron cardigan for years, which had quite a bit more yellow in it, but similar and I’d looked to replace it for a long time.

This is the type of slouchy sweater I love, someone was asking about slouch qualities recently, and I’m afraid I can’t remember who. This sweater is loose, easy, not too long, not too wide in the shoulders because it has raglan shoulders, the sleeves are not balloons, or baggy, and are not too long.

Yes! It’s time to bring out the cozy! I so love that colour, but can’t wear it (up against my face). How do you feel about the light blue of the denim jeans vs traditional or darker washes? I’m asking because I added two pair of light wash denim bottoms in 2024, and find them refreshing - but also sometimes a styling challenge.

Carla, I agree the light blue wash isn’t always as versatile as I’d like. I prefer low contrast, so you’d think some sort of pastel top would be a good choice, but then I feel like an Easter egg. But as with most of my jeans, there are some things that go together and some that don’t. It has to do with the color wash, shape, length, relative proportions to the top and shoes, and/or other characteristics of both bottoms and tops. I’m not sure I have one pair of jeans that would go with every top I own.

I do feel a pair of black denims is more challenging than these, with fewer top choices in my wardrobe. Pick the wrong top for the right jeans, or vice versa, and it just doesn’t feel right all day long.

FWIW, I think that colour and intensity of green works really well with the jeans. When I work with green items from my closet, I think of how green in nature seems to go with everything! (And, I love chartreuse in my garden!)

I like that color, and I like it on you! I would wear it myself, even though it's probably too warm to be flattering on me. I think it is grayed-out and toned-down enough to work for me. Maybe that's the case for you, too?

I like the whole outfit--the silhouette of slouchy sweater over straight jeans looks neat and easy.
