I sleep so badly right now and then get up so late that mornings are just a panic. This was speed dressing week.

(1) Bought this mongo wool scarf to keep my belly warm when I wear my fall jacket, but I need to figure on the best way to tie it to master the bulk. Yes, those are mittens on strings dangling out of my sleeves. The latest thing in adult cold-weather fashion, I swear. Now I need a hat to complete the ensemble. Let me know if you have seen one.

(2) red checks, fall version. I am looking at a red and black check version from Zara now. I am really on a red kick.

(3) This outfit I threw on in a major panic to be on time. The time crunch was compounded by the fact that after leisurely sorting through my tights to choose the right color, I held them up before my eyes and suddenly remembered, oh yes, that won’t fit me just now. Thankfully I found this pair of stay-ups after tearing my closet apart. I fear without more dressing forethought I won’t convince many people about the high-tops, but I am going to revisit the combo soon and work it out.
ETA: when I tie those strings on the jacket it gives a cute shape, actually, but no pix.

(4) I don’t think this shoe choice was the best due to the high contrast and shortening of my leg, but again, I was in a hurry.

(5) This morning (a panic like usual) it occurred to me I had this very oversized non-maternity t-shirt that would probably still fit. I laughed when I put it on, because it didn’t look very oversized! I had read online somewhere about a designer using safety pins to “ruche” the sides of big shirts for maternity wear, so I gave it a quick try. It improved my side-profile. I am sure if I had more time to fuss the front would look better too.

Tips and comments appreciated! My leave starts next week, so I will be able to take more care once again and hopefully get more sleep!
