WIW: the new Designer Garage Sale top

It's warm enough! I bought the top 2 months ago in this thread: https://youlookfab.com/welookf.....-practical Wore it yesterday to work and straight to a work dinner/awards presentation. During the day I had the orange sandals on and changed in the evening to the yellow loafers. Wore the orange pansy earrings yesterday and today for just a morning's work have worn the yellow earrings and loafers. Also tried with the floral bomber that some of you felt would not go. Opinions?

I like the pattern mixing - the colours seem to work really well. It is a lively mix but in keeping with your fun sense of style and fashion.

I would leave off the earrings if wearing the pattern mix maybe - and keep the rest of the outfit very simple.

I think both shoes would work well with the top.

Yay for spring florals.

Especially liking the yellow shoes with the earrings and double floral mix! Can picture the orange sandals working nicely as well. Turquoise footwear would be fun with this outfit, too

I love your shoes and the bright earrings. I have to admit the floral top and jacket together are a bit much for me, but I'm pretty conservative with my pattern mixing.

With all that going on, I am amazed that the jacket+top make your face light up. I do not understand it—I would expect to be distracted, but that’s the photo where I went to your face first. You look great!!

Fashiontern, I agree. And I think an important factor is that the COLOURS Jenni is wearing are so right for her. When you wear the colours which harmonize with your personal colours, people will see YOU first, not just the colours.

In addition, PATTERNS will look great if they harmonize with your features (and your personality). Some stylists know a lot about this, and I got some useful advice years ago. Much of it confirmed my natural feelings, for instance that I look best in patterns that are not too tight or busy, and best in patterns where the background takes up at least 50 %-- I need space in my patterns. This has to do with features of my face, hair, body--and also my personality, I think.

These are some of the reasons why certain patterns and pattern mixing look better on some people than on others. And they are--at least to some of us-- interesting details in the project of "finding your style."

Thanks all of you who have commented. It was fun to do the pattern mix. I was amused that it was a bit much for you Sara! Each to their own, right? Fashiontern, I decided I was a Spring in the old Colour Me Beautiful season system over 30 years ago and still think those colours are good on me. The grey hair changes things somewhat but not fully- skin is still warm. I mixed the florals again today with a different top and the orange/yellow pansy earrings
