WIW : The Big Scarf

Ok so these are not today (they are from our recent winter) but following on from Angie's blog last night, I really like big scarves.

I'm short 5'1, large busted and have a short neck! #1 in particular won praise from you all when I first posted it so I thought I would repost to encourage those of you, who have similar physical attributes, that we can wear big scarves

I love both of these! You rock a big scarf!
But I never would have said that you have a short neck.

I think you're right, though, that a lot of people who think they can't wear a big scarf might be surprised that they can actually look great in them.

Una I am 5'1:) But I am going to have to do some measurements because I am now wondering if maybe I have long legs, that is in comparison to the rest of my body?? I know you are petitie but I would have put you at about 5'6.

These are stunning on you! The first scarf in particular seems to be rather fine and lays flat, and that makes a big difference, to my eye.

Love love love! The first scarf really sings to me--I love that soft grey on us blondes. The red is delicious and colorful and fun. Your posts always inspire me, Deborah!

Laura yes you are right. The first scarf is a fine knit if a bulky style - if that makes sense so I find it easier to style and position than the red one which kind of has a mind of it's own

I'm 5'1 also! Weird! I think my legs are proportionate but not sure - I know a drop waist works really well for me.

You are the queen of the infinity scarf! Beautiful! Proportions are perfect. Booties in 1 make the outfit, bookending the scarf. And 2 is a song on three notes: black, white and red. Lovely!

These are so stunning, especially #1 - the lighter color doesn't "crowd" your face, and is so nicely bookended with the booties, opening up the outfit. And the long line of the sweater and the skinny jeans elongates the outfit and makes you look super tall - I wonder if that's why it works so well? I have your same attributes (same height, busty, short-necked) and was convinced that this wouldn't work on me. But maybe I'm wrong : )

Una, I think your legs are proportionally long; for example, I am 2 inches taller than you and have the same (or nearly) inseam as you. Deb could be the same

I thought of you right away with the big scarf thread - but did not put together the thought you are 5'1" or large busted or short necked at all! I just thought Deborah looks fabulous in big scarves. It never occurred to me you had any of those attributes. Hmmm, I might just have to reconsider my short and short necked aversion to them!

Shannon I don't think you are in need of hope at all:) In fact look very well proportioned. You are gorgeous and you never look "short" in your pictures. My dad used to tell me that 'good things come in small packages" and he was right:)

Yay! These are giving me heart! I love big scarves but always feel guilty because by the book it is something I should stay away from as a petite. These look perfect on you. Do you know I never would have in one million years guessed you are 5'1"? If you had said you are closer to 6 feet tall I would totally have believed it. You have great proportions, clearly.
