WIW: ruffles and a FFBO

A couple outfits from this past week.

1-2. Loft ruffle blouse, Gap cardigan, Express columnist pants, chain necklace from Target. I felt very happy in this outfit. The girly ruffles are balanced out by the necklace, at least I think so.

3-4. FFBO. I foolishly decided to run in the morning before work. My DH had to get up early to leave on a trip, so I was up and ran on the treadmill. It takes me forever to cool down, so my cheeks are extra rosy in these pics and I am "glowing" haha! This is a sleeveless dress from Target, NY and CO cardi. Old earrings that match the dotty pattern of the dress. Got a lot of compliments despite being a sweaty mess

I really like the necklace- not too fussy and creates a nice line.
I would love to see more structure in the shoulder area with the dress, maybe a cropped denim jacket or similar?
Gorgeous colours , I am partial to blues and purples too.

I really like #1, the necklace is really nice, and the ruffled purple blouse adds a lively color. I like #2 and I agree with Lyn, that a structured jacket (like white denim?) might be nice, too.

You look absolutely terrific in #1! The ruffles and cascades work is fab harmony.

#3 is a great FFBO! Try it with your animal slipper flats.

Love the outfit in #1-#2. The purple ruffles are so lovely and soothing to the eye with the grey cardi and black pants.

Lyn D and Makrame, I like the idea of a denim jacket with this for a casual day or MOTG day and will try it! For work, I think denim jacket would be too casual though.

Angie, leopard flats? I'm a beginner pattern mixer. I don't know If I'm ready to make that leap yet. I need baby steps first

I don't know what FFBO is? But you look super accessible in the dress; a very winning look.

But I have to focus on #1. I'd go wrong trying to do a draped sweater and ruffles like you have, but you've done it perfectly. The folds and ruffles fall together, have similar folds in a way.

I really want that purple top - cascades & ruffles - I'm in heaven. Such a pretty dress and the earrings are the perfect finishing touch.
