Apologies in advance for the terrible quality of the photos.

1. Worn to work: the new BR bow-sleeve sweater and navy pants with navy suede wedges and pearls. What shoes does everyone wear with dress pants? The rounded toe of these really bothers me. Is that silly or does it look off to you too? Plus, the navy pom pom on my bag. Yes, we've taken the tree down now! I love putting it up, and I love taking it down.

2. Worn to church: merino sweater with leather tipping, black leather skirt, black tights and shoes, pearl earrings and silver watch.

Gorgeous, classic and refined. The leather skirt and leather trimmed sweater are fabulous. I'm not one to have opinions on shoes. I buy ones that I love, and wear them for years.

What Kathie said. Beautiful classic outfits. For shoes, I go for comfort and often that means round toes. For wearing with long pants l prefer an almond or pointed toe but don't always stick to that.

Pretty and chic outfits, you look fab in both.

With pants I prefer the look of more "masculine" shoes such as moccasins, slip-ons, oxfords. Anyway shoes with pointy or oval toes and a square-ish vamp. Like you, I feel that round-toe shoes paired with pants look somewhat "off".

I like both outfits. They are classic and fit you beautifully. I love the navy, pink and pearls! My eye was drawn to the sweater and the pearls, so I did not notice the rounded toe on your shoes until you mentioned it. Personally, if my feet were happy, I wouldn’t spend anytime worrying about the toe box.

Both outfit look very classy and elegant! I especially love the bow sleeves and pom-pom on the first one - they add a nice playful vibe.
I prefer almond-toed shoes with long wide-leg or bootcut trousers, but I don't think the rounded-toes pumps ruin your outfit. Actually, like Mainelady I had not noticed them before you mentioned them.

I love both these outfits. Feminine, comfortable looking and some interesting textures. I think the shoes in number one look totally fine, however I get what you mean... it’s like there needs to be a stronger shape down there to “punctuate” the pants. Personally I find dress pants a bit tricky just generally. A pair of pointy toed stilleto boots would be great, if you happen to have a pair of those lying around.

The pink sweater is definitely your color, and I like the tie details. So many of the fancy sweaters that are available this season are so fancy that they can't fit under coats properly! I hear you on the shoes, though. Something about the combination of the long, traditional dress pants with the round toe shoe is not the most forward look ever.

You look stunning in pink! I see what you mean about the pants and almond toe shoe. I would probably want the pants to be longer to have less of my foot showing.

I love these outfits. Pink and navy is a fun color combo. I think the shoes are fine, since comfort is the most important thing to me on that score.

Good luck finding navy boots. I’ve had a hard time finding them. I have the Sam Edelman Petty in ink. They’re more almond toe than pointy, but they’re pretty comfy.

ETA: we only took our tree down yesterday. The dining table is still covered with ornaments.
