or how to blend in without looking like I've totally given up on fashion. (Some of you may disagree--lol!) #2 was Halloween and #3 is the debut of my new poncho (handknit.) I've been a little under the weather and feel like it reflects on my dressing--walking a fine line between stylish and boring!

Kelly, these are fantastic - please don't assume everyday wear does not interest me, because I love your style. I see a lot of inspiring color cohesiveness here. And #1 is SO flattering, as are the burgundy skinnies. You always look comfortable and stylish at once. I am in love with that knit moto sweater in your last picture!

I don't think these blend in at all--If I saw you on the street, I would totally notice and admire your style!

I really love #4---simple, but everything fits so well, and I love the burgundy pants! I also really like #2, the peek of pink underneath the sweater is perfect!

I think these are a great example of interesting everyday style! Love those skinnies, and that grey topper in 5 is excellent.

I love all of these and there is nothing boring about any of them Kelly! Your handknit poncho is divine, adore the cobalt blazer on you and those burgundy skinnies in #5 are fantastic! Hope you feel better soon.

OMG, the poncho - do you have a pattern? I am currently making your brioche scarf in a cheery red. Thank you for sharing the link, I am enjoying the pattern so much, it's really fun to knit! But I got so excited when I saw your poncho because I have been looking for something similar for a long time. I knitted myself a poncho last year but it was far too chunky and swamped me so I gave it away. The one you made is looking very drapey and figure flattering. More details, please!!!

@Brenda: The knit vest is from ON. It’s several years old unfortunately. I’ll be sad when it falls apart.
@Una: Thanks! I feel like I’m on the other side of spectrum as Anna. I sometimes fear to post because I’m SO conservative.

@JJ: Thank you. The pattern is from Churchmouse yarns. It’s basically a rectangle folded in half with a cowl that is picked up and knit after seaming. Kelly, I'm always thrilled to see your casual style because that's what I need the majority of the time for my lifestyle, too. Your style is NOT boring- it is casual but polished and put-together.

Any one can get dressed up for an event, it's how we dress day to day that speaks loudest about our style. You have a really coherent casual style - don't be so hard on yourself:)

YLF in all of these! I'm always happy to see casual outfits as that's my daily life also, just minus the kids. Is it an oxymoron to say that your style is "polished casual"?

First off: we have similar aesthetics, so please keep posting because I need to borrow some of your inspiration!

And secondly (which I alluded to in my most recent WIW) I think it's really easy for us to poo-poo our personal style because it doesn't look like what other women on the internet are doing. Well, you know what? Other women on the internet don't lead the same lives that we do, either! So it's important to be comfortable with the outfits that we wear: with their style and with their appropriateness for our life.

Lastly, I love your eye for color. It's an area I really struggle in, and you've done a smashing job of zeroing in on the shades that look amazing on you. These are very flattering, very pulled-together, and very approachable looks for you. The minimalism and approachability of #4 is something I aspire to!

These are really interesting, laid back looks and I love them. Some of them look like you just threw on clothes (and they magically worked together in line, hue, contrast and proportion) and not like you were up late the night before working on your *outfit* for the next day. I mean that in the best possible sense because that's kind of what I've been striving for.

I am amazed at your knitting prowess! That poncho is so modern looking; it looks like you paid a mint for it. I love the colors you use together. And I thought the grey vest was a long sleeved sweater! That's a nice effect. You look fabuloso!

There is nothing boring about these outfits to me. This is more or less how I dress and it is great to see posts with such good ideas. I love the burgundy on you - the poncho is amazing and I really like the skinnies with grey. The blue jacket is also a great color for you.

Kelly you undersell yourself something serious!! These are all fab as usual. I'm especially fond of #1 (those pants are super and the BLUE is so good on you!) and #3 (WOW your handknit cape, it's awesome! Love the asymmetry). I hear you on second guessing what I wear when feeling under the weather, I've been like that for almost two weeks now too. You are doing a wonderful job, I'd have never ever guessed you weren't feeling 100%! And as always I just adore your boot collection

Love all! the poncho and the knitted waistcoat ar esp fab! Personally I wouldn't let peeking out the pink hem under the black sweatter in nr. 2. feels like distracting a bit, but that's only me.
