Greetings fabbers! It’s been a while since I posted, although I have been following along.

I had a really rough winter. The back muscle issues/pain that I’ve been dealing with for 2 years got worse. I also experienced a multiple month period of depression for the first time ever, probably caused by the ongoing chronic pain. There is a lot of depression in my family, so I know what serious depression looks like, but this is the first time I have personally experienced anything more than a slight case of the blues. The long, dark, and cold New England winter didn't help although it was pretty typical and not too severe this year. Oh yeah, then there was the Covid situation. With some new treatments/meds, more Physical Therapy, the longer brighter and warmer days of spring, and the gradually improving Covid situation (I’m getting my second shot in a week), I’m starting to see improvement on all fronts. I came out of the winter totally exhausted, craving a return to my “core” wardrobe basics of simple, classic, dark neutral, low contrast outfits. I do not have the mental or emotional energy for bright colors, most patterns, trendy anything, tryting something new, or “trying to make something work”. I’ve been doing some spring shopping but it’s not warm enough to wear much of it yet and so far it's mostly replacement items or HEWIs.

Here are two outfits I wore this past week, that I think of as “comfort food” outfits.

I bought the grey pullover and black jeans last year, everything else is older. OBGs are part of the "comfort"

#1
Blue faux leather moto – H&M
Grey jeans – NYDJ
Cashmere pullover – Macy’s Charter Club
Booties – Lucky
Bag – Kipling

#2
Jeans – Democracy
Merino pullover – Macy’s Charter Club
Denim Jacket – Melrose & Market (A Nordstrom brand)
Scarf – L&T ☹ still not over their shut down.
Booties - Naturalizer
Bag – Vince Camuto

I’ve never been so happy for the arrival of spring!
Comments and suggestions welcome, as always!
