WIW: I liked this more than I expected

boots: I forget the maker, bought at DSW and about to donate because they're giving me blisters...

Did some errands and then some window shopping on Newbury Street today. I looked at a bunch of handbags, none interesting, but ended up with some fun Converse hightops--haven't worn them since college! My WIWs, if I do them, are going to be pretty boring for quite some time, but I'll try to be creative.

Bummer about the boots because they are so rugged and cool. Love the outfit. You've got that UW thing going on.

They are cool but the footbed is gigantic and my feet are sliding around. I suppose I could put in an insert in, but I suspect it wouldn't make enough difference. I bought the boots some time before I had any clue whatsoever about shopping and making sure things fit. They seemed to fit. They didn't. I feel like I should just make some room in my closet for something better.

Too bad about the boots, but if they don't fit well, I think it best that they make room for something better. Perhaps you can find something similar that fits.

Wonderful outfit post! The look is modern and fresh, and definitely "you." I used an athletic shoe insert (thicker) in a pair of boots last year, and they were marvelously comfy!

Darn - it really is too bad about those boots because they are super cool on you. Are you sure it's not worth at least trying an insert?

Oh please try an insert before giving up on the boots because this outfit is so great on you. Extra room in the boots means you can add nice cushy socks and a nice cushy insert. Very pretty necklace, you are a talented jewelry maker.

Great outfit! I love the way the necklace echoes the top, and the distressing of the boots does, too! Too bad they hurt. I say banish them if they can't be made comfy.

Great outfit! Too bad about the boots - insoles might work but there are some shoes that just never work with some particular feet. I sold my Frye Carsons because they gave me the worst ball of foot pain I've ever had, despite having a lower heel than many of my other shoes and being otherwise very comfortable. Most other people seem to love them, which just goes to show that all fussy feet are different.

Try the inserts before letting them go - love the edge they give the outfit. Sometimes x2 pairs of socks work for me - a thin one then a thick one.
