WiW: finally found a snakeskin bag + bonus pics + jeans question

I have been on the hunt for a slouchy, casual bag. My dream bag was a snakeskin, with silver hardware, oversized but to scale for my petite 5'0 frame. I have searched high and low, and low and high... including in NYC all weekend long... found this one at TJ Maxx yesterday. What do you think?

- H&M purple scoop neck tee
- AG skinnies
- SW giveable ballet flats
- inexpensive fake-silver necklace borrowed from youngest daughter and never returned

Bonus pics: my oldest daughter, showing off the lace-sleeved top she bought at TJ Maxx, same trip. And Rocket Dog herringbone flats. Adorable, no?? Plus obligatory shoe picture.

Additional question:

The AG skinnies. These are incredibly, incredibly comfy. Like wearing sweat pants comfy. And high waisted, which I prefer. Problem is, after a few hours of wear, they are soooo loose. Everyone keeps saying they look just fine, but they don't feel fine to me. I don't know if it's all in my head, or what. I have the same jeans, one size down, on their way in the mail to compare. Will post comparison shots when I receive them.

But, what do you think, from this pic only? I was going to return these, but then Angie did her blog on slouchy skinnies.. and to my eye/feel they do have a slouchy thing going on -- especially if I put my hands in my pockets and/or slouch them down a little lower. But without much fading, I don't know if they quite pull off the slouchy look?

I love the bag! Great score! Your daughter is too cute, and I love her blouse. As for the jeans, based in the pic, they look good. I do find that many of my jeans bag out as the day progresses, more so if they have a lot of spandex.

Love the purse and all the shoes! Skinnies look great - where do they feel loose to you? To me eye, they look form fitting in a very flattering way.

So it is weird. I really need help here. Looking at the pics (and I took more than just this one), the jeans look just fine on me. I see no bagging. Family and friends are also seeing no bagging. But they have sooo much spandex in them... they FEEL baggy. I can put my hands in the pockets, if I am not wearing a belt, and slip them off without unzipping. That's how loose or baggy, yet -- pics don't look loose, do they?

So confused by these jeans! I am wondering if to me jeans = uncomfortable. And that's why I can't wrap my head around these particular jeans, since they are just so comfortable.

I will do more photos when I get the pair in next size down. My instinct is telling me that those may be just the ticket, but who knows.

P.S.... I wore these jeans three days in a row without washing them yet. So this is as loose as they will get. When I first put them on, they are perfection. It's after a few hours, they start feeling sloppy to me... but they don't look sloppy?? It's messing with me!

Bag, jeans, daughter and shoes all look perfect!

I had a pair of jeans that *felt* exactly like you describe. They very quickly went from fab to sloppy feeling, due to a very high percentage of spandex, even though they were cut close enough to the body that they still looked like they fit. You should at least save them for traveling, but maybe you'd like more structure for everyday wear. I think a maximum of 2% spandex will keep jeans feeling more like old school blue jeans. You do look quite nice in the pictures though! And the bag is the perfect size for you (MK after all, too)!

Loving it all. The jeans look great on you; the bag is fab and proportional; the short -sleeved jacket was something I was prepared to view with a poisoned eye, but I really like it on you. It looks like a great transitioning piece. I could have used it today!

Claire- exactly!!! I did wear these traveling -- 4 hour car ride to NYC. They were awesome for that. Once we arrived, I felt sloppy and wanted to change. I had them in the laundry for washing, but pulled them out twice and wore them again and again. Because they are comfy, and I was evaluating whether I wanted to try the next size down or not. Maybe I do just need more structure. I am not sure.

Joy - thank you! I do like this jacket for transitional weather. It's a nice 3-season wool. As for daughter's hair cut: she has a face shape that can do any cut at all.. bangs, no bangs, long, short, crew cut, etc. Also has enviable coloring which means she can pull off any hair color at all. Which she has been experimenting with the past few years. Everything from red to black to purple to green! Her normal hair color is Jennifer Anniston, caramel blonde. Right now she has the remnants of red in it, which is a bit orange. Her hair got distressed this summer so she cannot dye it at all right now. Has to baby it completely, as she dyed it one time too many and it started to break off. But it's rebounding and looking much better these days! The orange is kind of cute.. but she says "I will never dye my hair ever again."

I sized down in my skinnies for the same reason - they are tight for the first half an hour then they are fine. I really hate that feeling of pants slip.

Those jeans look great on you. I think the jacket is just adorable and not dated at all. It might, with a more traditional straight or a-line skirt, but with a casual and on trend pair of jeans it looks fresh.

Your daughter will get a ton of wear out of that blouse and it looks so great on her. She could wear that just as easily with a metallic skirt and heels for New Years Eve.
