Today the morning was cool so I pulled out a suit I keep especially because it is usually the perfect weight for Easter and the pale green of tiny new spring leaves.
1. Ann Taylor skirt (consignment), EF silk shell (thrifted), Bandalino snake sandals (consignment), necklace (DIY)
2. Same with Ann Taylor suit jacket.
3/4. Jacket sleeves scrunched
5. Twisted view of skirt pleat detail, wrinkled after sitting in this all morning.
6. With Halogen blush jacket. Does this work?
Is this outfit too pale? Too dated? Please be honest.
I was talked into the sandals when I bought the suit but know they are not very modern. Are they too frumpy? Any suggestions for improvement and other ways to wear the suit? Your thoughts on what is working? The matching jacket is heavier and warmer than the blush blazer.

I like the sandals, do not think they are frumpy. The suit is rather formal but if you have occasions to wear this, like church, then it's perfect! Wearing the skirt with the Halogen jacket is a brilliant way to re-mix things, and it takes the formality down a notch while still being polished and 'dressed'.

I like the suit! It's pretty! The back pleats are fun :). I'd also like to see it with a white layering piece. Fresh!

I like the idea of the sandals, but find that they show too much toe. The straps if positioned higher on the foot would make the modern difference if you know what I mean. I hope that makes sense, Joy.

Denise, thank you for your thoughts. This suit gets little wear so ways to dress it down are exactly what I need.
Angie, I love the idea of white with this pale green and an optic white would probably be best. I do understand what you are saying about the sandals. I had similar thoughts as I put them on this morning. The straps, which are too low, do little to hold them. I must have a low volume foot and they are too open to add inserts to create volume.
My legs are really hair free. All the discoloration is veins and stuff which seems to have gotten worse in the past year. I didn't realize how bad they look until I saw the photos.

Joy, smooth, vein-free legs are not the only form of beauty. Legs "with skin action" are just another type of leg! Your legs are beautiful and they work beautifully for you. I hope my legs look like yours when I grow up.

I have low volume feet too, so high five!

This is a lovely suit Joy(esp like the pleated back) love it as it is styled here, and love with the blush jacket, too. But then, I would rather wear to it the white top, as per Angie said.
Also love the sandals-(they show some beautifully slim, happy feet:-)), but I would wear these only to the outfit without any topper. Weird, I know, but to my eyes when wearing a jacket, then shoes need to be a bit more covering. No need to be pumps but a light sling back, peep toe, or densier cage anything.

The fit and elegance of the suit make it seem classic not dated, to me. I like it best with the blush jacket --- maybe because it's less matched that way. The proportions are beautiful on you.

Wait, you're having cool weather? What?! Well, your beautiful Easter suit comes to the rescue. I love this best without the jackets because then we really see that beautiful EF shell and your perfectly coordinating necklace! Gorgeous. I like either jacket, but the matching one looks the most formal. I'd nix the sandals because of the square toe (I think, it's obscured by the carpet), which looks dated to me.

Lovely suit. I'd like to see it remixed with a chambray or denim shirt, or maybe gingham? And as others suggested, a shoe with more straps/material would be lovely here.

This is certainly fashionable, but in a formal way (for church?). I'd like to see if you could break the suit up. The blush jacket in particular, with jeans and a T?

Angie, your kind words mean so much! My legs have been good to me...no bad knees like so many friends. I can still walk fast and do stairs without pain. I can't complain.
Lyn, what you say about the sandals and jacket makes sense. They are in the donation bag. Almost all my other sandals have more coverage.

Claire, you and Suz would both like these EF silk shells because the neckline is higher than most. I'm getting rid of the shoes.
Lisa, chambray, denim, or gingham would be a great way to make this more casual. I'll have to play with these ideas. Thank you!
Sveta, Angie is brilliant isn't she. I love the idea of the pale green jacket with the blush pants! Never thought of it. White jeans too. I was thinking white top with the green skirt or whole suit at first. You reminded me that the reverse may also work.
Runcarla, I can't wait to try your Ideas and hope it stays cool enough for a jacket. Pastels are new territory to explore so I'm still feeling my way.

I like it! It is very formal, though, as others have said. I wonder if you could modernize it with some metallics?

I like #1 the best. So elegant, and shows your slender figure so nicely. I am particularly loving the wide straps of the top.

The sandals are pretty and I like them too, I also get what Angie means with higher positioned strap - strange how picky one becomes. Still, they work to my eye and I would only wear them with some very pale nail polish (if any).

Re the strappy sandals - following on from what Lyn said, I like thin straps with lots of bare skin in resort/beachy outfits, like the ones below, where the "almost barefoot" effect seems perfectly natural. Can you see your sandals with any of your summer holiday dresses?

Ornella, thank you for your kind comments. My feet don't really fit well in these sandals for walking more than to and from a parking lot, but I'd love to find a more modern version in the same color. I see what you mean a out the nail polish. Good idea.

The colors are so great for your delicate coloring, and somehow the cut of the suit and your hair and everything seems to mirror each other and look fresh, streamlined and modern. I agree that the shoes may not be 100%, perhaps too dainty, but they ARE beautiful shoes with some other outfit, and they are still pretty good here!
