Hi Fabbers,

Nothing of note to see here really. Just a casual Friday at home, about to go do some groceries and maybe go Go carting with DH and Master 11. I have few days where I don't feel like 'dressing" and today is one of them It's cooler, only 25 degrees and sunny and to be honest I was excited to throw on a pair of lighweight black skinnies:) The last couple of months it has been too hot for jeans of any kind.

Funny story tho... I had a play this morning and put together some white and grey outfits with a view to wearing a casual grey and white outfit (featuring the dreaded white jeans) today.. and this is the end result ha ha. I do have some photos, which I may post later. All in all I think I have concluded that i don't actually love white jeans on me. I could still be tempted to try cold weather combos but for now white jeans + summer do not equal 'me' It seems I do prefer my grey with black

#4 is a shot of a new nail polish. It's a divine soft pinky beige from Rimmel's Salon Pro range - its called "Soul Session". Since watching The Fall, I have been a little besotted with Gillian Anderson's wardrobe and the lovely soft pinky tones and neutrals she wore. I quite liked the idea of this tone against my blacks and also grey.

Thanks for looking:) I imagine there are all kinds of improvement to be done here but simple jeans and tshirt is kind of ground breaking for me ha ha.

You look stylishly pulled together. I don't know how you were before YLF, you always look great. Since joining YLF I hope that I can look as good as you when not feeling like dressing. I think sometimes I achieve that. Something to do with everything I've learned here and having purged items that I don't look or feel good in.

Well there you go again, looking chic and pulled together without trying. That top looks amazing on you and I am love love loving that nail polish. I'd love to wear that colour, as if I need *another* nail polish Wish some of that cooler weather would make it up here. I'm wringing from just hanging out the washing.

Deborah - this is such a great polished outfit. The pants are a fabulous fit on you and love them with the sandals. But the star is that top - what amazing drape, lovely neckline and length, so elegant and I love the black tank peaking out. You look amazing. So why, when I try and do this with my style do I not love it? It's a good gray for me, Yes, it's shorter but I'm wearing the uber short skirt of the leggings. But it's like my top half is a pulsating gray beacon (despite the jacket), but I love it on you. Still trying to decide if it's a matter of adjustment or it's just not for me Wha!!! Why can't I look as good as you!!!

i'll willing to bet you were the most stylish women at the go carts! this outfit has the kind of easy and sophistication that leaves me speechless. it looks so easy, but all of the details are working perfectly together, and you look so comfortable and at home in the outfit!

Thank you for your very kind compliments ladies:) Not that I think this was anything special, but I do feel it still reflects my style and I felt good in it. I have started taking my casual wear as seriously as my non casual wear since joining YLF and I apply the same scrutiny to casual, even lounge wear as I do to my work wear. I really wanted consistency across the board. Similar silhouettes, and my style to be consistent no matter what I am wearing or where I am going.

Gryffin, you are too nice to me. I could see you wearing something similar. I suggest it might just be your eye needing to adjust. I was like that when I first started wearing grey. The garments you show here are all 'You" and the outfit you describe is so very 'you'. The only other thing I can think off, and i am not sure where you are at with jewelry, but some sort of black beads (maybe wooden) would look great on the grey. I think you just need to give it a go and let your eye get used to it:)

I laugh when you say this is the end result of trying to put together a white jeans look - I totally know what you mean (my issue isn't white jeans but there are lots of others!) ! That helmut lang asymmetrical bra sure would look great under that tee! I saw it on sale from a Canadian online retailer after Christmas and thought of you (and was on vacation so sorry didn't get a link out). I love soft neutrals on nails, too, thanks for the recommendation.

You certainly have found your tune with the soft gray and black...Please take those white jeans, fold them nicely and put them in the absolute back of the closet...There are too many delicious outfits to wear to waste one minute wearing what isn't totally happy clothes...

Deborah - that's a good suggestion and I did think of scarf and necklace but I am usually pretty minimalist and I don't like things that "swing" at work. But I think it's the abrupt transition and level of contrast. I'm going to keep trying and see if my eye adjusts. I also have worn my Charles David regiment boots, and Uggs belcloud and adirondaks to try and pull the gray. Still a work in progess. Kind of like the white jeans for you!

I have a strange relationship with my white jeans too- it has to be a bright sunny day before I will consider wearing them.
I always default back to blue jeans if the weather is not just right!

Deborah, I think you'll be the prettiest, most fashionable Go-cart driver on the track! You look lovely in casual Friday attire and I think your desire to play with pinky tones in your black and grey capsules is an excellent idea.

btw, your nail polish color is really pretty and reminds me of my Dior "Incognito," another nice neutral shade.
