Thanks all for the boost! I tried several versions (1, 2, & 3) throughout the day and got lots of compliments about my outfit and my shoes.
A few funny observations from today:
1) My feet were getting tired after standing up in the heels for 3 hours in the afternoon but I stuck it out because I liked hearing people rave about the shoes, LOL! I even wore the leopard heels to the post office (to mail my YLF secret santa gift ;-)) and people waiting in line behind me were complimenting on my shoes. Whenever I wear these heels or the Chie Mihara sandals everyone takes notice!
2) A drug rep complimented me on my outfit and wanted to know where I bought the shoes and top. This is high praise because usually the drug reps are very sharply dressed compared to us doctors--their job is to look attractive and sell things. They're usually in nice suits and fashion-y ensembles. When I was in residency training you could always tell who the drug reps were because they were so dressy & sharp looking compared to us scrub and fleece wearing slobs. If we ever dressed remotely like that we would get teased about looking like a drug rep or get asked if we were going on a fellowship interview. So today the drug rep and I were chatting about clothes and she was asking me where I liked to shop, etc. I thought it was so funny that I am now dressing so differently that I am now in the "drug rep leagues", haha.
3) I came home and kicked off my shoes (aaahhh!). But I waited to change until DH got home. I am starting him on the animal print desensitization program since faux fur is going to have to wait (too advanced for him, if you remember our recent fashion quarrel). I wanted to show him the animal print top and see what his reaction would be. But, only one piece of animal print at a time so I don't overload his senses! When he came home, he said, "Hi Bam Bam!" I think he meant I looked like Pebbles from the Flintstones. He kept teasing me with caveman jokes and asking whether I was going to drag him off by the hair. But, at least when I asked, he said he didn't hate the top. So, a minor success! I'll keep working on his fashion tolerance...but at a gradual pace.
