WIW: chocolate booties, burgundy, olive and navy

My chocolate booties came!
They are very thick leather will require a some working in (similar to Doc Martens).

I’m pleased with the chocolate. It’s surprising that a small change in tone (black to dark brown) makes such a difference in how “me” something feels.

I feel the same way about black and ink. Ink is so much better on me!

Olive pants. I’m glad I didn’t over-invest in olive. One pair is enough. The main attraction is the zips and seams.

Wow, love those boots! They are gorgeous. And I think the olive pants are fun. I know what you mean about one pair being enough, I still struggle with olive and am glad I don't have much.

You struggle with olive too. Maybe it’s the wrong colour for your skin tone?
I thought if I put olive on the bottom, that I’d wear it. While that’s true, I still really do prefer my blue jeans

Great boots! I’m just the opposite — anything black is so easy for me to work into outfits, but I struggle with brown. I like the olive pants too.

Yes Janet. The black is a little tough, which suits you.
I never once wore black as a kid or teen so I wonder if there’s something to that.

love it - right up my alley where are the pants from ? I've looked in every bloody store I've been in for olive casual /utility pants, and am coming up empty-handed. I, on the other hand, cannot have too many olive pants

Those chocolate boots look like they would blend beautifully with burgundy. Following your link to Brown's shoes, I fell in love with the orange Aquatalias except for the heel height.

I really like all of it. These boots are right in my wheelhouse, and I like the colors you’re wearing. I used to like wearing olive pants, but didn’t own any for years cause I couldn’t find the right ones. The purse is great too.

Love this outfit. Cozy chic. I am on a mission not to buy anything black for tops. I'm ok with it on bottoms and footwear, but have been trying to diversify my footwear into other colors after years of only black.

I love this Smittie! Really nice look. Often one piece is enough- I completely agree. I also love blue denim but it is fun to have a change piece as well. The chocolate brown is great on you. On me I like black or lighter browns - so I love seeing someone else look so fab in dark brown.

Sal - it is nice to have a change of pace. I think that’s what’s know as a “non-essential” and I think I need to reframe my brain around those pieces. It’s ok to have things you want to wear once in a while.

Perfect. I have a pair of dark brown oxfords and find them very easy to wear with any neutral.
Trousers are a light shade of olive - maybe that’s why they’re hard to style? I say that because I have difficulty wearing light bottoms while I seem able to integrate dark bottoms of any colour seamlessly in my wardrobe.

I wore them again today and they’re just fab.
They don’t have any flash, cuteness, or distinctive features (other than a colour I like). So what is the style where you like plain things? Minimalism I guess...I don’t like minimalist outfits on Pinterest though...

Skylurker: I might need a darker olive, interesting thought. I tried Angie’s dark olive pants, and decided to return them because of the fabric and the fit wasn’t quite right on me (I am curvier). But maybe they would have actually worked better.

I love how the boots bookend your hair. These colours all work so well together. I am a fan of both ink and black, but that is probably because I lived in black in my 20's and so it feels very comfortable. I love olive on others, but on me, it feels a bit too murky when my personal colouring suits clearer colours.
