WiW casual Saturday, fall but warm & muggy

Global warming is upon us. This weather -- high 70s, muggy -- is so unusual for October. Plus add that I am running particularly hot lately. I am at a loss about what to wear, especially for weekend casual. Felt too hot for jeans today. So I brought out the theory navy dress again. Paired with ATL army jacket to dress it way down, plus slouchy bag. Leopard booties as nod to fall, and dash of pattern.

pic 2: my hair when we got home. We got caught in a flash rain storm. Was only in the rain for all of maybe 2 minutes. My hair dried faster than my clothes.

Nooo.. don't tell me that, texstyle!!! We were going to hit up a Fashion Week event next, but when my hair got all wet, I had no idea how it would dry (it usually frizzes horribly) so we just came home. (At decision point, my hair was sopping wet.. along with the rest of me).

I do think at some juncture I am going to have to give up the blow dryer/flat iron and just roll with the curls. I am getting a lot of white hairs now. And they are curly-will-not-be-tamed-into-submission. I just wish I could predict/control the curl better.

Your outfit is gorgeous. The booties add that extra something. And I rather like your hair au natural also. In fact Shiny that's pretty much what mine looks like under similar conditions But I just cannot give up the blow dryer and hot irons lol

You look smashing as always, and the color of that dress is great on you! I really like the casual/formal contrast a lot. Re curls - I have them too, and my experience is that it is a lot easier than blow/flat iron to grow a bit longer hair and find a good hairdresser. Tell her to do the final cutting AFTER your hair has dried, then it will stay that way when you fix it yourself at home. I rarely do anything more than washing & conditioning + some shaping creme for a more controlled look. Then it just air dries. Easy peasy!

Thanks Ingunn -- my hairdresser does know how to dry-cut curly hair, but I'm always non-committal with her "can you cut it so I can wear it curly OR straight?" Hee hee.

I was really hoping that when I went gray, I'd have sleek hair because I love the way that looks. I've always thought maybe I'd even go pixie length someday when it's silver. But the hair that's coming in is definitely white, not silver... and it's curly as can be!!.... and thick/wiry... and very very dry, too, no matter how much I condition it. DH says "It's JUST like your mother's... " which makes me worried....

I don't know if anyone picked up on this, but in the WiW I took on Friday, outside in the sunshine, if you look carefully, you can see that I have a shock of white hair against my forehead, kind of like Stacey London... that is NOT highlighting. That is white hair that is coming in.. and coming in fast....
