WIW: Angie's plaid, glitz & tough boot combo & keep or donate things

I didn't think I would like this combo when Angie first posted it but I decided I had the pieces so it was worth trying it. I have already learned so much from Angie & you lovely ladies so I was open to discovering a new outfit or way to combine clothes. I am happy with the way it turned out. I wore it to the "Who Shot Rock & Roll" exhibition today.

In the other pics is a lace top I was given. I would have walked past it in a store but needed something for my pencil skirt that wouldn't keep coming untucked the way a button down shirt does. Should I keep it?

I haven't worn these wide legged jeans in forever because they are hemmed for really high shoes. I am wearing 3 1/2" heels here & they seem a little too long. If I put weight on though I think they are PPL. Should I keep the jeans? Do they suit my body type? I wouldn't wear them with this top necessarily.

The plaid shirt outfit looks good! Maybe black boots would look nicer than the red ones?
As for the shirt, the neckline is a bit too "lingerie" for me, but I like the lace.

I love the first outfit on you, especially the red boots! The lace top fits well - do you think you would use it as a layering piece? I think the jeans fit you very well - if they are comfortable, keep them.

Great Angie's formula outfit! I like the red boots, but black would be good for another 'mood'.

Lace top fits well, but there IS something about the bodice - the way it cups the breats that reminds me of a slip (but you're too young to have that memory It doens't look like you have a cami under it, but would a cami that cut across the neckline look more daytime appropriate?

I actually like it better with the jeans than the skirt!

The jeans are super cute on you. What a hassle with the PPL, but is it worth it to you to getg them hemmed a little for wearing with everyday heel heights?

The plaid outfit looks great! The lace top also seems like it needs a cami to me. I just "found" a lace top I had forgotten I bought (shame on me) and it has a built in cami. I almost returned it (Nordies has easy return policy) but then I realized I hadn't really given it a fair shake as I had never tried tucking the cami but leaving the lace overlay untucked. I only tried briefly with the shorts I was wearing but I saw right away it was a pretty good idea and plan to experiment more. You could try something similar with this lace top and a cami tucked in under it.

The jeans are cute - the wide bell def. has the 70's vibe so I'd probably do something else on top to counter that. You could also have the bell bottom narrowed if you wanted. Have them hemmed so you can enjoy them with your regular height shoes.

I like the sequin top and plaid shirt! I have to admit that I wasn't excited about the outfit combo at first either. Now that I'm seeing on people it's growing on me and I may give it a try soon. I like the lace top and think it could be quite versatile to wear alone or as a layering piece. The jeans are cute but you may consider getting them hemmed so that you have more opportunities to wear them.

Yes hem the jeans if you'll get more mileage out of them.

My only nit is I really want to untuck your top when worn with the skirt! I realize you bought the top deliberately for tucking into skirts. But, I don't like how there's the seam line under your bust, and then the skirt waistband. I think proportionately the outfit would look better with the top untucked, and it does look like it might be the right skirt top length?

Thanks ladies for all the kind & wise comments. The lace top is already lined with flesh fabric & a cami wouldn't show because the neckline is high. Lace is back in again so I think I will hold onto it & see if I wear it. If not I can donate it. It's not something I usually wear but I will see.

I guess I could hem the jeans to 1 1/2" height to fit with some of my boots. I'm afraid they are so wide, not just at the bottom but top too, that they will make my legs look short. Once hemmed there's no going back. Hopefully Angie will give me her opinion. Here's me in wide pants hemmed for flats.

I like the lace top with the pencil skirt. Which surprises me. The lace top does look like it rides up a bit over the bust, or is that my imagination?

Rachy I noticed that in the pic. I think it was because I was tired trying things on quickly but I will be sure to check that if I wear it. Thanks:)

you can also slightly narrow the bell so it won't be so wide and you'll be more balanced.
