WIW 3/22: Going back to work (too soon) in the Magic Dress

Unfortunately the Nine West Magic Dress's magical properties do not extend to healing! I went back to work today and made it until about 2 p.m., at which time I declared defeat and crawled back home to my sick bed. Ugh. I've cancelled all my engagements for the weekend and am officially hunkered down with clear liquids and Mylanta.

One of my colleagues said I looked and seemed perky today, and I replied, "It's an act!" But I have to say this was a pretty good costume for said act!

Blue print jersey dress: Nine West
Teal trapeze jacket: Amber Sun
Teal pumps: Madden Girl
Black tote: Coach
Black sports bra worn as cami: Moving Comfort

Let's hear it for the dress-plus-jacket as FFBO! Huzzah!

Ugh, so sorry to hear about your sickness (on top of everything else going on in your life right now)! But you would never guess it based on how you look--you look as sunny and gorgeous as usual.

I hope your snuggled up weekend treats you right, and you get to watch all sorts of fabulous movies and read wonderful books, and drink delicious hot beverages (or cold--your choice!).

Mr. K was gentlemanly enough to make a run for 7-up, Mylanta, jello, and popsicles. I have cancelled all my appointments for the weekend, which were neither insignificant in importance nor few in number. The worst part is I had a hair appointment for tomorrow so my roots will be showing all next week! My iPad is full of good books and my DVR is full of fun (if not "good") TV. So I am all set and hopefully will emerge from my cocoon on Monday morning with genuine perkiness instead of the fake kind!

Jules, Angie had this dress in the YLF store three years ago, and everybody just went crazy over it. It looks so good on every body shape that it was promptly dubbed the "Magic Dress" and it's still going strong in various colors to this day! Several of us even have it in two colors!

And eBay still has one in size 6 as of this evening!

Oh, Mary! I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I have been absent from the for awhile and missed what's been happening in your life. I have been through similar heartaches and all I can say is you will get through this. You are an amazing, smart, beautiful, woman with a fantastic personality and you will survive this and hopefully someday realize that all this was for the best. I hope you take extra good care of yourself and just focus on today. Big big hug.
