WIW - Ponte(s) sans the Leon - YouLookFab Forum

I am so envious of the creative YLFers who come up with great titles for their WIWs.

I wore my ponte knit pants with a JJill silk shirt and the Miz Mooz boots this week. I haven't seen any OTK boots this season though and am concerned that they are over. I hope that isn't true because these ones are really comfortable and add a toughness to a soft outfit.

I also wore this new Lands End Ponte dress. I think I could have sized down one size but don't mind that it is a bit loose for daytime. I added a belt with flat studs and my Boutique 9 boots to offset the prettiness. I am thinking of having the dress hemmed about 2" so it is at the top of the knee instead of the bottom.

Are OTK boots out?

Do you think I should shorten the dress?

My hair is officially too long to wear with the bangs but my hairdresser wasn't available this week so I will wear it this way for another week.

Both outfits looks great and I like your hair styled like that.

I like the belt on the dress, so it's hard to tell if it's too big, it looks good in the pic. I think the length is fine, but maybe pin it up an inch or 2 and have a look at it. I think just above the knee could look good too.

I really like those boots. I wouldn't care if they are over or not, as they look excellent on you, and not costumey at all. I would love to find a pair as great as those.

I don't think they're out; I was just in a Stuart Weitzman store the other day and they were all over the place! I think they even outnumbered the knee-high boots.

You look great with your bangs worn both ways. You could change up your look even when they're not too long. Love your outfits and I envy those super-duper long legs of yours!

Dianthus, that green is SO spectacular on you! You look just stunning in the LE dress. On you, it is a million dollar look! I love the way these boots lighten up the bottom half a bit and balance the skin up top. As for shortening, I'm sure it would look good that way, but i also like it like this. Maybe, as JulieJohn says, pin to compare?

Wow Dianthus! I wouldn't change a thing in either of these outfits - they are both spectacular. I'm in love with that green dress on you and the boots give is a slight tough edge - fabulous! The OTK boots are killer on you. I don't think they're over and wouldn't even worry about it if they were - they look great on you.

I like both outfits but I especially like the boots with the soft shirt. It's not really cold enough for boots here yet so I can't comment on the OTK style. I really like how they look with this outfit so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Love them both. I especially like the OTK's--they are amazing on you! Must get to Costco one of these days and see if they have those ponte pants. You should wear that green more often--it's lovely on you!

I love the way you look in OTK boots. Although we see less of them, I don't see them as being "out." You should wear them a lot because they are that flattering on you.

Another styling idea for the OTK boots: wear them with an oversized boxy top, keep the fabric flowy if you are concerned about the oversized look. The bottom with the boots creates an alluring body con silhouette so I think you can pull of oversized.

I think your dress would look great shortened or as is. Because knit dresses can ride up I'd probably keep the dress longer though.

I WISH I could wear OTK boots, but with my vertical challenge, I would look just like Puss in Boots. These look great and you should keep wearing them and let them be a "signature" piece for you, whatever the current trend is.
Yes, the dress would look better at mid knee or slightly shorter.
You look great in both outfits.
