WIW - Friday difficult shirt to style

Hi lovely YLFR'S,
Happy Friday!
Today I teamed my workhourse gray faux leather jacket, inexpensive bootcut black jeans (I know....too short!), black ecco ankle boots, black and polka dot scarf, red handbag, AND a for me difficult to style gray BR polished cotton long sleeve button down. I HATE tucking it in so left it out. Does it look too snug? Suggestions?

You look divine! The blouse looks perfect to me (what I can see of it.) I'd imagine if it were tight it would be in the bust? You look polished and pretty with your polka dot scarf. Very nice!

Your shirt looks fine to me. I find button up shirts difficult to style too, but I think the scarf is perfect for it. Tucking these crisp shirts into pants with a low waist can cause it to blouse at a spot that isn't particularly flattering so I think leaving it untucked was a good bet. Nice neutrals!

First of all, I think the shirt is perfect, especially when layered under that wonderful jacket. Is it taupe or greige? It's hard to see in the photos. Also, when your pants are tapered like these are, they don't need to come all the way down to the floor. If they are skinny, they only need to cover part of your heel. I think you're safe with these pants. Love the polka dots!!

The blouse is "trim". The buttons don't actually pull over the bust but it's pretty tailored there!

I feel I look AWFUL with the buttondown's tucked in! If I was really slim and willowy with little hips that would work. There is something about the crisper fabric not draping to follow the silhouette. Thus the untucked look. It definitely is better for me. I love my scarf!

Thanks for reassuring me about the pants. I have been having angst lately about pant lengths and that is a good point about when they are tapered. The jacket is a cross betwen a gunmetal and pearly gray. Hard to describe. I have been wearing it A LOT. The scarf does add a more polished touch. This is my $1.00 scarf!!!

Everything looks chic to my eye except the pants length. You could wear them with lower heels to compensate. I like the skinny, low volume scarf.

ETA: pants length looks fine in last photo, but looks a touch short in first one, why is that?? Maybe ignore my comment about PPL. Shirt fit is flawless.
