WIW - booties with bare legs

Hi everyone! What do you think of these booties? I like the booties with bare legs look on others but I'm really not sure about it on me. My thoughts were that because the color is light they aren't too stumpifying, but I'm curious what others think. As always, your honest suggestions and feedback are welcome!

#1 - burgundy top, DIY infinity scarf, thrifted brown skirt (I know it looks black, but it's dark brown).

Not stumpifying at all. You could even pull off these same booties in a dark color, without tights, and not look stumpy. It takes some getting used to. I think it works because the booties fit just right on your ankles -- hit at the right spot, are a tad loose, making ankles look slim, etc. Then again it may be that my eye has adjusted to this trend, and I am personally all over the bare legs w/booties right now.

The booties aren't stumpifying at all. They look nice and highlight your slender ankles.

I don't think they make your legs look short. I wonder if you've tried this with a denim jacket or maybe a utility style vest or something with some leather or suede at the top. Something a little "outdoorsy" or "rugged" in the rest of the outfit might balance it better to my eye. The booties are very cute and you have bookended the color but maybe not the "feeling" of the suede or leather on the top part.

I think you look great, the boot fits your ankle nicely and the color of your scarf bookends the boots! Well done.

The booties are great on your bare legs; run with it! I was thinking along the lines of Texstyle: are you able to wear a denim jacket or vest to work? Adding some texture to the top of your outfit would be a fun extra touch. But it looks great as is, too. I love raspberry with chocolate brown. Or raspberries with dark chocolate......yummy!

Thanks for the advice about adding a denim or utlity jacket. I don't own a denim jacket. I like them on other people but I've never found one I like - they always seem too stiff and uncomfortable. I'm still on the lookout for one though. I do have a utility jacket/shirt that might look good layered. I'll have to experiment with that.

Nice! I'm wearing booties and bare legs today too.

Try a denim look jacket in tencel - much softer feel but same style impact.

Try a thrift or consignment store for a denim jacket. Maybe one that is worn in a bit would be more comfortable for you and looks great when it looks well loved.

Or try a stretch denim jacket in a softer/lighter denim (I don't like the stiffness either).
