Addendum - I just lemminged this sweater that Janet got (it had been out of stock in my size before, and I had a Nordstrom Note).

These two Angie recommended in the spring. The orange dress got a TON of wear in the spring and summer, as I knew it would because I love t-shirt style dresses; the hat, less so, because I've mostly been at home, but I love its fit and color and hope to wear it more in 2021. They look great together, too.

That hat is adorable and what a great color, Kaelyn! Would love to see it in action.

Nodding with Janet, Kaelyn! Love this idea for you!

Also, I have to say I'm a bit like TorontoGirl in that my entire style is probably "organically lemminged." I've learned so much here. I do sometimes buy specific Angie picks and items recommended / worn by forum members. But more than that I have lemminged certain styling tricks or approaches. And I'm okay with that. In teaching we have a motto: Don't reinvent the wheel. Works for me, for fashion!

I think this is the only year I haven't been a lemming. I wanted to numerous times, because you guys find the best stuff, but I wasn't really going anywhere but the grocery store, so I decided to donate my fashion funds to the food bank. I'll be ready to plunge back in in 2021, I'm sure!

Yes that "lemming" isn't a negative! It's not "buy everything your friends bought just cause it looked nice on them." Since online shopping is the way to go, at least for now, we have to rely on each other for reviews. It saves us time and $, and helps reduce the "noise" of so many options. I trust fabbers more than some random leaving a review online. Plus- we see how things hold up over time, and you don't get that with online reviews.

I agree, Suntiger. I know the “lemming” term has a negative origin, but around here it’s a compliment. I’m happy to admit when someone here has inspired me to try something, and happy when I can help someone else find something they love too. It’s one of the really wonderful things about this community. We’re not jumping off a cliff, just sharing.

Here’s an actual lemming we saw in Barrow, Alaska a few years ago. As you can see, lemmings are cute little animals.

What have I lemminged? Two things I can remember off the top of my head: a pink cashmere scarf in NAS that Angie got and then I had to have it, too. And a pillow that someone else here (sorry, I don’t remember who, but thanks) got. It’s pretty nice.

So lemmings are adorable.

Kaelyn, cute hat & dress I’d love to see you wear.

TG and Suz, absolutely picking up ideas about how to wear what with what is why I’m here. That’s super important to me as I’m not into buying new things. Angie’s outfit formulae are great because they start with what’s in the closet. I read her roundups the same way—“mustard is in, and wide-legged pants....hmmm, I think I have something like that...” “looks like time to pull out my combat boots again” etc. But of course I pick up ideas from everyone else too, like wearing a teal sweater with the pants I just mentioned, wearing white pants in seasons other than summer, and lots more. And I appreciate the feedback people give me on my outfits. So even if I’m not buying the same items, I benefit from seeing how people evaluate whether something works in their wardrobe now. Guess I’m a lemming too. Good thing they’re cute

I had a pet lemming once. I named him Cliff.

He didn't get it.

Haha Cee you made me snort for reals!!

I have few 'real' lemmings - being based well away from the US. The YLF influence for 2020 is most evident in these purchases:
- JCrew tartan shirt - which Angie and Christian wear
- JCrew westie print shirt (recommended by JAileen and a firm favourite)
- pink boots (influenced by Angie and her pink boots)

I loved catching up on this post and seeing some familiar items!

I absolutely lemminged two things this year: Angie's zip-up high tops and Torontogirl's BR button-down. I love them both and was so happy for the recommendations!

Oh and how could I forget my Hobbs trench and my Camper slippers -- also lemminged from Angie!

I lemminged Bijou. Her bao bao bags inspired me to grab one.
Thx, Bijou!
