What’s the best razor?

My razor just broke, and it occurs to me that this is a chance to try different brands, since I’m almost out of blades as well. I’ve used the Gillette women’s razors (currently the Venus) for probably 20 years. Anyone have a particular fave? Or an online brand that is better or more cost effective than drugstore?

I use the Venus. Just be sure that you buy plenty of the blade cartridges that go with whatever razor you pick. Sometimes they are no longer available when you need them.

Gillette. Men's handle. The more blades in the razor cartridge the better.

I just ordered a billie razor. I haven't used it yet but inexpensive and it comes with re fill blades.

i'm currently using the Flamingo...i like it, but then again, i've rarely found a razor that i thought was terrible or one that i thought was so good that i never wanted to change to another brand....but what i love about this brand is the suction cup razor holder which actually works ALL THE TIME for weeks on end, this for me is a first...

I'm with Carla. I've never found the women's razors to be better than the men's -- just overdesigned, pink, and expensive.

I just ordered a Billie too. I like the surrounded by charcoal soap idea rather than whatever might be in those moisture strips of Venus that I think is irritating my underarms. However, it's been over a week and it hasn't even shipped so I can't speak to how good it is.

Thank you all for the recommendations. Target had the Flamingo starter kit for ten bucks so I'm giving that a try. I do like the weighted handle; it feels sturdier than the plastic handle on the Venus.

I'm always finding spare cartridges in my linen closet, and can't' remember which razor they were for and what fits what. I never remember which one I am currently using when I'm in the drugstore , so end up buying an entire new system. Lather, rinse, repeat. Not one single one has worked better than another. What a marketing scam this category is .

My skin is really sensitive to razor burn. The Hydro Silk sensitive care razor from Schick really works for me together with Aveeno shaving cream. I find the choice of shaving cream also makes a big difference. I change the razor blade once a week.
