On a different thread I made a comment about the earrings my son had made for me to wear to his wedding. That sent me on a trip down memory lane.
My son had told me that we might be doing The Batman Dance (a family favorite when our kids were little) for the mother - son dance. My son has a great sense of humor and I could not tell if he was kidding with me, or not. All he would say is that the song would be a surprise.
What is a mama to do? Plan a surprise of her own, of course! I found a lady on Etsy to help me out.
I wore a stunning pair of silver Badgley Mischka sandals to the ceremony, but slipped into Batman at the reception. My son twirled me around the floor and sang to me as we danced to “What a Wonderful World”. He changed the words a bit and sang,
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do
They're really saying, “I love your Batman shoes!”
