Thrifting thanks to J'Aileen...

In October I was looking for a top with some sort of orange or coral in a pattern. I would have liked to wear such a top in spring ( which is Sep-Nov) or autumn( Mar-May). I had a disastrous try of a paisley shirt which had gorilla arms for me. Then I was dropping off my cast-off high heels and jumpers to the hospice shop to donate them. And on a whim, I thought of J'Aileen's thrifting successes and decided to pop into the shop part. Within one minute, there was this Verge ( a really good brand) olive shirt which turned out to be silk. For $8!
We then went on holiday to warmth and after that summer. But today it has been raining and it was cooler. Fourth wear. Yay J'Aileen!

Well FashIntern I think it was luck in this case. I think having shopped much less for the year and having a really good knowledge of what was in my wardrobe helped- I could immediately tell it was the right colour for those olive pants. I didn't even try it on- I thought for $8 if it didn't fit I could donate it right back to the same good cause. It looked like it would fit and does so perfectly.
Hoping that in the future luck may strike again!

Great find and you have styled it to perfection. I have mixed feelings about thrifting- too often I can’t find things that fit a petite, but 8 get the sales googles and buy anyway. But YLF has taught me to be more discerning, and I am figuring out a few silhouettes were misses sizes work, so I may need to revisit a few places.

It's a great find and looks lovely on you. And thank you for the shout-out to thrift store shopping! I volunteer at our animal shelter's thrift store, and you would NOT believe what people donate to us in the way of high-end merchandise. My good friend, who doesn't normally shop in thrift stores, dropped in to browse the other day, and she left with two gorgeous silk Escada blouses for a grand total of $37. She was in shock (in a good way)!
