Street Fashion in Galway

We have not been in Galway long but I got a few street shots. Much is the same as Dublin...ballet flats, tartan shirts, shorts and dresses with black semi-sheer stockings. I don't think I saw any leather jackets in Dublin, unusual for Europe. However, I've seen some in Galway.
1: lots of fashion backpacks.
2: guitar player has on a plaid shirt.
3: this duo walked by as I was taking the last picture. Note distressed leggings.
4: this older lady looked smart in her metallic trench and shoes. Her cane was animal patterned
5: a couple of cuties out for a walk
Runcarla, if you see this, I didn't get your magnolia question answered from last time. I've not seen magnolias but will post flowers in Off Topic

Love seeing holiday pics and street fashion!
Looks like it is still fairly cool weather there?

Yes, it is cool, windy and raining off and on. I wore a fitted down top over a tee and under a raincoat plus a scarf to keep warm. Today is forecast more of the same. High of 53 degrees F. I see more boots than sandals.

Love this Joy! We used my iPad to pre-book rail tickets. Booked 24 hrs ahead of time, and off peak, and sometimes we were paying a quarter of the 'regular' fare. I would have preferred to amble up to a wicket just before boarding, but quickly learned better!

Do you eat fish and seafood? We had amazing meals throughout, and scallops to die for.

Lots of rain today in the Galway area and we took a day tour to Connemara National Park, a friary ruins and( shout out to Ornella) Kylemore Abbey and Gardens...gorgeous! Then there were lambs baaing for their mamas everywhere. So cute. Sorry, no street fashion unless I manage some going to dinner. There were lots of middle aged to old Irish ladies on the tour dressed in good quality knits, some with sequins. They do like their bling. I did see a fab woman in slouchy, high waisted, faded but no distressing blue jeans, a white tee tucked with beautiful lacy bra straps showing and just a faint hint of what must be a gorgeous bra underneath and ( drumroll)... Fashion sneakers! She was French!
Angie,I have definitely seen lots of what I think are Euro looks, especially on university students or that age.
I so wish I had photos but I've seen 2 guys and one girl in what look like a cross between pajama pants and harem pants. They were all a print in cotton or rayon fabric, full length and fitted at the ankle with elastic or drawstring gathered waist. Each pulled it off with confidence. I wish I could remember the rest of the outfits. I think short jackets or cascading cardigan over a tee. One at least was a graphic tee. The girl was wearing short suede booties in light tan.
Runcarla, I do like seafood but was put off it by a horrible meal of salmon on the plane. Last night we went to a recommended fish and chips place which was very busy, but the fish and chips were not good. A young Japanese woman at our table was having haggis, preferring it. I'll try scallops when I get a chance.

Such a shame about the food Joy. I had the most incredible fish and seafood everywhere. If you return to Dublin try Leo Burdock's traditional fish and chips joint. It is take out. Super fantastic! It is in the Temple Bar district. I didn't have one meal that wasn't five star all the way no matter the restaurant or location so I'm sure your run of bad luck is over... Klyemore Abbey is fantastic isn't it. Such a beautiful setting.
Love your street shots of Galway. I ran into such trouble shopping there!!! Two claddagh necklaces in about two minutes...sigh.

Aida, except on the French woman ( early 40ish?) pants are definitely not loose. In fact on young people I see heavy leggings as pants.
