We were invited to a party for NYE with the invitation having pic 1 below on it and the wording: "Sparkle and Shine! Get your sparkle on...

Dress: anything that
sparkles/shines/reflects/illuminates/glows"

So I tried to go all out, as I do, sparkling from head to toe... pink glitter in hair and on neck and shoulders, shiny eyeshadow, pink lippie to match my outfit which matched the invitation colours, "Effervescent Opal" fingernail and toenail polish, little flower stick-ons on nails in pink, sparkly rings, earrings, watch, starry necklace, great-grandmother's 1886 silver cuff bracelet, sparkly neck on tunic, shiny buttons on the shoes. Sparkly bolero at the start, sparkly evening bag I bought in 1979. Even my Versace Bright Crystal perfume is sparkly and pink! Then DH, who could only think of getting something from the dress-up box, found an old sparkly blue wig which he matched to his old Tahitian shirt and his turquoise running shoes. Which succeeded like crazy and he outshone me! It's fine though, I felt proud of him. And several people did notice my glitter.

The party was so fun, our friends had decorated really well with sparkle and shine, balloons on the letterbox in the invitation colours, etc... and their 23 y old daughter who was home on holiday just meant to call in with friends but all the young people ended up staying and swelled our numbers with intergenerational dancing eg to YMCA. So Much Fun. Yay! Happy New Year to you all xx
