Thanks Angie. Just in case I can't get them - what do you think of the Kumfs flats?

The kumfs look dressier which is not wildly suited to your lifestyle. Does that make sense?

Angie, do the silver flats not work with dresses at all, or do they just not work with certain dresses? I sometimes wear mine with the super casual knot front dress I posted here a few times.

I also wear them with my denim skirt, walk shorts, and clams.

Hi Anne

I'm excited about your shoe shopping trip! You've already received lots of good advice. How do you feel about a wedge heel? (I LOVE wedges!-)) You can go a bit higher with them while still being comfortable and I always feel a wedge heel elongates the leg when wearing skirts and dresses.

If you're still after a ballet flat, here's another option (I don't know the brand, so I've no idea if they will be comfortable):

(the beige leather/black ones, bottom left - they remind me a bit of the two-toned Me Too flats)

Another thought: do you have Clarks or Camper? Both brands are known to make comfortable shoes, and they do have some cute options.
Dr. Martens has a few ballet flats as well, and since everybody raves about how comfortable the boots are, maybe they're worth a try?

Oh, and don't forget to have a look on yoox.com either (they ship to Australia). True, they have some outrageously expensive stuff on there, but quite a number of good deals as well. Just select the shoe type you're after and then sort by price.

Keep us posted?

Maya, the silver flats will work with certain dresses, like the one you've posted. Clams, walk shorts and a denim skirt are a much safer bet.

Nice selections, Inge!

Guys, thanks so much for all this - I am really touched - fancy you all looking up aussie shoe sites I didn't even know existed!
I am about to go shopping now, so I'll let you know (your) tomorrow how it went!!

Whoops double post

V quick post here - haven't had much internet access and still don't. Anyway - Angie I got the silver airflex shoes. More later!

Well I am afraid this story has had a disappointing end. I wore the silver shoes out on Wed night and they kept slipping off my heels in a really annoying way! But they are too worn now to return.
I can only assume that my feet were swollen when I tried them on in the shop (it was at the end of a 7 hr shopping stint).

Anyone got any suggestions about how to deal with this (is there some sort of cobblers solution?)

Try heel grips! They're little things that stick inside the heel of your shoe. Shoe stores should carry them.

Thanks Brianna - I have just looked up some prices, and even if they don't work they won't break the bank so I will definitely try them!

Yay! And oh no! Try the heel grips and an insole too.
