I'll be taking a break from the forum for a couple of weeks to regroup, do some planning for next year for my business , and to read a lot of books while enjoying the holiday season. I have a big stack waiting to be read and can't wait ! There are also a few tv shows to investigate . I'm truthfully sick of clothes , shopping and everything attached to it and the forum bickering from Friday sealed the deal . That kind of negative energy I just don't need . My goal for the next few weeks is also to go through my wardrobe, reorganize it, and edit out the extraneous. And be ready to start the new year with quiet intention. Merry Christmas everyone - and peace be with you all.

Wishing you a refreshing break. You've given me an idea. I wish I were sick of clothes - always much too interested. Just read an article about how taking in too much information results in decision fatigue, which then impacts creativity. How'm I going to know what I really need and want in my closet unless I work with my actual closet and not imaginary additions.

I like what Vildy said about "decision fatigue". Very true and I'm definitely suffering from it. Sometimes we need to take a step back and regroup.

Vildy - very concise, as usual . YES to this. It's been a whirlwind fall of buying, looking, fretting over rises and pant lengths and pant widths and this and that. I just want to wear my clothes and not have it occupying head space right now. I've also veered away from who I want to be style-wise, and want to regroup.

Thanks all - hope you all enjoy lots of books, some good tv, lots of crossword puzzles, maybe a jigsaw puzzle or two, maybe some holiday baking and lots of exercise (mental and physical).

And yeah. I’m suddenly active again after a lot of off and on less active periods, or hiatuses over the years. When it feels like a chore or I end up in this negative over-thinky state of mind, or I feel like I’m in a cycle of needing to buy things rather than enjoying what I have, I hit the pause button and back off. I think breaks are healthy.

Let’s hope the drama cools off. Fingers crossed.

Re: JAileen’s comment, I had a female coworker who decided to do just that. Black button down shirt and jeans, beautifully fitted. I think she had multiples of each, spent a month wearing them daily, and decided she liked dressing by uniform. I remember her changing up things like whether she wore jewelry, a scarf, or a topper, but the base did not change and she looked terrific.
