Outfit with flower pin

Sorry for double post -- I originally was asking for Antje's input in how/whether I could wear the sorts of flower pins that she does so well, and Angie had a concern that they might overwhelm me because I'm smaller.

This is what I wore, thoughts welcomed. Inge -- this pin is very deep purple, and my other is the same one in a nude shade, both were under $5 at F21.

AT citron top; R&S pinstriped jeans; Me Too Salems in purple; AT jacket.

(I stuck my foot out to show my shoe, but I promise these jeans are hemmed for PPL with these shoes.)

Oh, that was DEFINITELY worth the wait! I love, love, LOVE you in that! The citron and purple look terrific together. I love that top on you without the jacket just as much as I love it peeking out from the jacket collar!

I think the proportion of the flower pin is not too big or too too small; it's just right, Goldlocks.

Yes, I think it's wonderful. The shirt color is gorgeous. Just love it. The addition of purple and pinstripe are so fab.

I also think the quote from Significant Other is so sweet. It's so nice to have a man recognize the evolution, don't you think?

April, love the flower pin on you! Of course, I might be biased since I have the very same one!!! I thrifted a purple wool blazer/jacket a couple of months ago (similar to the J Crew astrid jacket) but it seemed a little blah so I was looking for a purple flower pin. I really liked the one that Shiny got at the AT outlet but we only have a loft outlet nearby. I ended up with this one as well as another one from F 21 that is supposed to be a hair tie (I'll just cut out the tie & add a pin). Anyway, the outfit looks fab as is but the flower pin gives it an extra boost and the purple with the citron is such a great color combo. I adore the shoes!!

Flower pins? YES, most definitely! Sorry I am yelling, but I love flower pins. They add something so romantic to an outfit.

To all - thank you for your very kind words. I had fun wearing this outfit and am so glad it has received YLF approval. The jeans with their pinstriping and high-waist tailoring almost don't look like denim - I wonder if anyone would complain if I wore this combination to work. (It's funny how "no denim" eliminates smart trouser-ish jeans yet permits the baggy, cotton knit, elastic-waist pants that I have seen so many teachers wearing in my schools - often paired with a holiday-applique sweater. Something askew there.)

Shana, I remember that way back you had mentioned something about wanting a purple flower pin -- at the time, I almost posted to offer you mine because it was still sitting in the closet in its cellophane wrapper. Anyway, since I selfishly kept it, I'm glad you got one too!

Jean - it means a lot to me to have commentary on a color combination from a true artist.

Taylor - since we are so close in shape and you probably try on everything that comes through AT in our size range, I hope you'll always let me know when something great turns up. (When do you have time to work there when you're also styling hair? Let me guess - Mondays.)

A few months back I saw someone wear that very same flower pin with jeans, a graphic tee, and a black vest. It was perfect. I couldn't find that flower at F21 when I looked a few weeks ago (though it's online), but I found a very similar one this past weekend. Hooray for cheap but not cheap-looking accessories.
