I love this combo so much that I think color-blocking with more sweaters would work, too. The slender bottom silhouette will permit the horizontal break on top. Drape a long scarf over your neck for more vertical integrity. When a formula works, why question? Milk it!

Just had to come back and let you know that now that you’ve put those boots on my radar, I’m craving a higher shaft version like these — somewhere between booties and knee height. If they came in grey, I’d be trying some!

I love long skirts and tall boots!
And a column of color!
And a bargain skirt
This is perfect in every way!
FAB!

Thanks, all.I was really comfortable in the skirt for an 8 hour day on my feet - and surprisingly, no static cling . To answer your question , Kelly, I had some very soft hold hairspray in my bag, and sprayed a bit of that on my legs and on the under side of the skirt when I got to work. Worked like a charm .

Janet - grey would be great for you, I agree. I've never looked to see what other colours were available on line - the store only carried black. They really are a super comfortable and supportive boot, with a bit of heel as a bonus ! I had always dismissed the brand as being too casual for me (plus some of the shoe styling is, uh, never mind) .

I had no idea about the hair spray! Thanks for the tip!

This looks gorgeous! I think this lays to rest the notion that you cannot wear a skirt :)! You look fab! I love the taller shaft lace-up boots--they work so well with the sleek polish of the skirt.

Perfect outfit and can be dressed up whenever you feel like it. You might need more skirts.

I think you look terrific in this skirt, so if you’re on the fence about wearing skirts, let me give you a loving shove onto the “yes” side

I didn’t know hairspray was a static cling option. I’d read somewhere that you can mix a little fabric softener with water in a spray bottle, but if you’re wearing satin, I think that might leave spots when it dries. And hairspray probably smells better.

Yeah , hairspray works as long as it’s a soft aerosol mist and not a pump - dispensed one . I spray my legs mostly , and less on the skirt itself . Static Guard is nasty smelling and doesn’t work well anyways .

Lisa, how is the fit on those Crave boots? I think when I tried them on a couple of years ago the SA told me that people often needed to size up? I wasn't confident I could get away with that much heel, so didn't pursue it at the time, but I certainly do admire that boot.

I bought a 38 and wear an 8 in US/Can sizing . I sometimes wear a 39 in Euro sizing but not in every line . I am surprised at how comfortable these are considering the heel . Shelmerdine has them , btw. These are quite roomy in the toe box too , which is a new requirement for me - cough - getting old - cough .

Thanks! Good to know!

Love the look and will wear some of the same for the holidays at a moment. I have 2 matte satin skirts one in black and one in mint green-see if I can do what I envison with them as bias skirts are much more tricky for me than the pleats. A few years ago thought the same about pleated skirts are "too far outside my comfort zone . Pleats on me are not good- like really bad", then I warmed up and wear them often now!

Lyn, I think the only time I'd even LOOK at a pleated skirt was if I weighed 20 lbs less than I do now . Seriously, I don't know how other women wear these things.
