Just returning from a trip; a mtn of Nordstrom boxes awaited me. These are the keepers and returnees, after two try-ons and deliberating.
KEEPERS:
Halogen Midi Purple Royal Skirt: slimming, beautiful color, sized down, not sure how I'll style it yet but I remember Angie saying there are all kinds of ways to do so.
Eileen Fisher Long Tunic, Blue Bonnet: great artsy fit for pointe pants/leggings, sized down
Halogen v neck tunic, purple royal: love the color (catalog color doesn't show how rich this purple is) and fit, good basic tunic I'll wear a lot
Leith ribbed shawl cocoon sweater, brown spice/rust: love the color and fit; I sized down so I don't feel overwhelmed in it; bought one in charcoal for my daughter as well. Soft, comfortable.
Kut from the Kloth plaid skinnies: love the cut, feel and fit of these. ordered my usual size in Kut. Plaid is great as well.
Zella Cashmere and wool hoodie, navy peacoat: fits really well, yummy on, soft, will be reaching for this one.
Olivia Burton Watch: elegant, great design, needed a big faced watch that doesn't overwhelm
Treasure and Bond Scarf: great color for my wardrobe
Gorgana Kelllen Drop earrrings: for my daughter she will love them, wish I had ordered two!
PJ Salvage Jogger pants: for my daughter-- I have them and they feel so yummy to slip into for mornings and after work attire for her. Taupe is lovely color.

RETURNEES:
Nic and Zoe cotton blend sweater, evening blue: didn't fit me well enough to keep, a little big in a smaller size, more sweatshirty on me. wanted this to work as I have this hole in my wardrobe, casual but smart looking.
VC ruffled blouse: ordered in two sizes, definitely needed smaller size but not the right blouse for the lace midi BR skirt I'm trying to find a top for. Too much material on shoulders and too loose for that skirt. alas!
Nic and Zoe side-zipped sweater: didn't fit me well enough, casual enough but needed to fit better. The horizontal stripes didn't do anything for my body type. love the mixed design a lot.
Halogen cashmere scarf: loved the feel and drape but the color washed me out. sadly going back.
Dolce Vita perforated booties: too narrow in the heel, fit great in toe area. this is the right size but my heel is exra narrow.
EF Tilda's: sadly, love this style, just a little high for my fussy feet and a tad too roomy in my narrow heel. Tough call but they have to fit perfect.
Anna Beck ring: correct size (7), loved the band but not the face, could work for casual but wanted a ring one step up to be a keeper for me.

Debating ordering a top pick EF low heel pump that Angie posted in "raisen" color. Last day of sale so will decide soon.

I am happy with these decisions, ordered more than I thought I might but I know the above keepers will be worn a lot. Without Angie's recommendations and forum member's recommendations/reviews, I would not have tried these. For me to keep anything, clothes must fit me really well, be the color that looks good on me, and be needed in my wardrobe. Plus sale items are usually persuasive as I budget for clothes and like to save wherever I can. I look for clothes that are 9-10 on a scale of 10; anything lower I don't keep. If undecided, I don't get it. If I have to do x and y and maybe an item will work, I don't get it. Still, I am open to wild cards but they still have to fit the above criteria.

From the above keepers, the watch and the plaid Kut's are wild cards as I wasn't so sure about the design of the watch and plaid pants I generally do not wear. Both I love.
