VAni, I am super late to the party but I just wanted to add that you look gorgeous in all these dresses!

Oooh, I am so glad you found a better fit for the pink dress (it is the LT dress, right? I'm easily confused).

Looks like you have several pairs of black strappy sandals. I think the strappiest pair would work with the pink dress. Add a simple black clutch (do you have one?), and you should be set. The pink dress makes a great statement on its own, so you don't have to be fancy with the accessories.

Okay....for all the rush I was in (and put you all in) and hullabaloo I made , we had to cancel tonight's dinner! It just started raining cats and dogs around 5pm and didn't stop until around 8 pm. So, we just had dinner by candle light at home with one of our favourite meals - fresh bread, cheese and wine. Then we went out later for some yummy home made ice cream. It was lovely. We did reschedule for Saturday so everything is still on as planned and I have some time to plan for things now. First order of priority is a haircut and a pedi. I haven't had my hair cut in over six months now!!!

I viewed your album completely wrong according to your descriptions!!! I like the SLEEVELESS dress best, which turns out to be the EXPRESS style. That’s the first dress in your album and THATS the one I like best (which is why I said “the first dress” in my original comment ). It’s NOT the London Times pink dress that I like best. I don’t prefer capped sleeves, so OF COURSE I love the sleeveless style over the others.

I’m so sorry for the confusion, Vani. Please get the sleeveless dress. It’s the one you liked best too – I think?

Aah, that explains it Angie! No wonder the word sleeveless in your first comment kept coming back to me and I kept wondering why you would describe the pink dress as sleeveless! I'm sorry for the confusion, I should have labeled all pictures correctly. Anyways, I did bring home the pink and another black AP dress (I swear I'm not obsessed!) and modeled it for DH. He still just couldn't get himself to like it over the others. Of course, it isn't that I ask him to approve all that I buy and wear; but I have learnt that he usually is right *grin* He really liked the black AP (sleeveless) dress but was also sorry it was black and not in a color.

I swear this is the last dress I will post on this thread! The second black AP dress I found at Marshalls when I went back yesterday:

I LOVE that everybody here encouraged me to go for the pink dress. And I LOVE the idea of a dress in that color. I hope I will get the chance to find one that is a 10 :-). Just as a launchpad though, as RJ mentioned, I think it might be wise to go with a canvas/palette dress versus a statement dress. And the Express/AP sleeveless dress seem to fill that void in my wardrobe. Especially since, now that I have been thinking about it, the office holiday party will be coming up in a few months.

I'm glad I have some time now to hunt down accessories. I love the clutches that Sarah posted and wanted to order one this morning but work was hectic. I'm sure the mall might have some good offerings tomorrow.

Congratulations on your anniversary, Vani! You look adorable in both dresses but the Express dress may be able to be worn more ways for future events..and you look HOT in it. Does DH have a preference of one over the other?

Thank you so much Joy! He prefers the drapey bodice of the AP dress versus the plain one on the Express dress, but I much prefer the way the straps of the Express dress sit on my wide shoulders. This is something I have to deal with all the time with sleeveless tops and dresses, so I love it when the straps are set wider Looks like the Express dress is the winner! I also have a gold specked jacket from ATL that would look perfect with it for the Holiday parties.

Wow Vani, I have just caught up on this whole thread. You look amazing in all the dresses I think and have already got that sorted out. I hoep you had a great anniversary....will you post pics of what you end up wearing???

I'm not Angie, but I have tried on that Express dress in the 3/4 sleeve version. The dress is nice, but it's not what I'd consider evening. It's that lux stretch jersey (or whatever Express calls it) and it catches lint very easily and just doesn't look nice for long.
The shape is beautiful on you, though. Do you have time to shop at more places now? Say, Nordstrom?

Oh Sarah, you are right. Now that you mention it, that is probably the reason why the AP dresses felt so luxe compared to everything I tried on. I wish I had more time. DH's birthday is on Monday and I've been busy planning a surprise and keeping it from him. I might have some time tonight to head over to Nordstrom's.
I have a few things to return anyways and that will give me some leeway as far as the budget goes.

Oh good. It just sounds like you need a great LBD anyway, for occasions like this. From experience, I can tell you it's better to take your time and find the perfect one than end up with two or three that are just "okay". If you have the option, of course.
