I was just reading in the NY Times that Karl Lagerfeld based his Spring 2017 collection for Chanel on Alberto Giacometti's Spoon Woman (see photo below). I was amazed to hear this after what seems eons of designers seeming to think that women shouldn't have any hips. As a pear-shaped person, I found this news heartening.
