You'll have to forgive me, but I take issue with Lagerfeld in general. He's a misogynist of the highest order, and a generally unlikable person. Just because he has designed dresses that flare or might accommodate hips does not mean he thinks women ought to have them. As he has said in the past:
"No one wants to see curvy women. You've got fat mothers with their bags of chips sitting in front of the television and saying thin models are ugly."
"The body has to be impeccable. If it's not, buy small sizes and eat less food."
"Dress for yourself and the man you love (if there is one). Women dressing to impress other women––forget about that. Forget about that. It's a very bad way of thinking."
He doesn't think Coco Chanel was a feminist because she "wasn't ugly enough for that."
As for Adele, "She is a little too fat, but she has a beautiful face."
“No one wants to see curvy women on the catwalk.”
"Having adult children makes you look 100 years old."
"I think tattoos are horrible... If you're young and tight, maybe it's okay, but..."
I could go on and on and on with quotes like this. The man is atrocious.
