Debut of the Fluevogs (aka conversation starters)

I was so excited to bust out my new Fluevog boots that I've had for a while now but haven't really had the opportunity to wear. This outfit is probably on the edge of work appropriate, but I wore it anyway - it's Friday after all! Somebody mentioned on another Fluevog post that wearing Fluevogs definitely draws people's attention. I can't even tell you how many comments I got on these boots today! My little guy (he's 7) looked at them and said, "Mommy, those boots are FANCY!" LOL!

OMG, this is gorgeous! I love with the leopard scarf. These would be totally office appropriate in my firm even M-Th. We have (dressy) jeans Fridays, though, so we're probably a little more casual than your firm.

And yes, they really are conversation starters, aren't they? People love beautiful shoes.

I've signed in about 50 times today and was finally thinking I was done for the night....then I saw these astounding, stupendous shoes. I have seen them in white and if it weren't for that heel height, would have seriously considered them. They are just extraordinary and will elevate the style quotient of any outfit you wear. Jealous.

(don't see why you couldn't wear them to work, unless you worked in a super-uptight environment)

I was initially a doubter of those boots, too, and I now I'm a believer (though not a Monkee). That outfit is perfect and is completely office-appropriate (and I tend to run conservative for wear-to-work outfits). You just plain look fabulous.

I always enjoy seeing what great outfits you come up with. And this just adds to the list. You have great style and inspire me to try new combinations. I love your high/low mix and hope to get some Fluevogs myself someday.

Thank goodness I don't have to break out the ketchup and start chewing leather.

I am pinning this one!! Christy this is what I call an edgy look. The jacket is not a traditional business jacket, but you have created a suit look with the jacket and pants and then added a type of footwear that is totally unexpected. This to me is "cool". You look fabulous. Love it!

I would be willing to bet the other women you work with will start stepping up their game if you keep showing up looking this good. It has all of the elements of conservative> It's dark, covered and you have a jacket, but then you turned the volume up. Chic and sophisticated.

Thanks all! Glad to hear this reads as work-appropriate. I think the hesitation I had was because of tucking the slim pants into short boots. That, and I don't usually wear these Gap pants without a longer jacket and I wasn't sure if they were too tight.

I'm so glad I bought these boots. They are very comfortable for such a high heel. I wore them for the first time yesterday and even ran a few errands during lunch and, while I was ready to take them off at the end of the day, they didn't really hurt. I might see if I have enough room to add a cushy insert because the foot bed is a bit hard, but I think the leather is going to mold wonderfully to my foot as I wear them more frequently. I'm so glad I bought these!

Angie, thanks for noticing the chop job - I had my stylist cut my hair quite a bit shorter this time and I was a little concerned that it was too short. I'm still working on how to find a relatively quick way to style this wacky hair of mine!
