I like Madewell but haven't gone into the Santana Row store. Don't you wish there was a pedestrian bridge over Steven's Creek blvd? I tend to avoid VF/SR because the parking is so hideous and the crowds can be overwhelming, but there are stores there that are not anywhere else except up in the city. I have been to the Uniqlo store in SF and didn't get anything, which disappointed me because when I visited one in London a few years ago I really liked their stuff. Maybe they'll have more room in the SB store and have more than just the basics. </p> <p>Zara is rather like an H&amp;M variant but slanted slightly less casual, I would say... I've gotten a couple nice pieces there over the years but the quality and the sizing are all over the place. Their suiting, if it fits you, is a really great value but some of the more casual pieces are really cheaply made, in my experience. There are lots of changes going on at VF. I noticed the new BR location (although I rarely ever have any luck there.) Brandy Melville opened too which is DD#1's favorite store--nice to have one locally as opposed to having to go to SF or Santa Monica. I saw the Uniglo ad while walking out of Nordies--I've been to the one up in SF but couldn't really figure out what all the fuss was about. Diana says they are great for Heat tech and layering pieces so I will definitely check them out when they open. I love Zara--although I haven't had much success there either.
