Yay! Pleather is quite warm so I doubt you'd want to bulk up anyway. With a tank, you should be able to keep it on well into the 60's.

Following up -- I tried the jacket with just a tank beneath, per Jean's suggestion, and it fits much better that way -- I can even button it! I think I will keep it and I thank you all for your patience and helpful commentary.

I love the fit of the smaller size on you April, but if it feels too constricting it may not be worth the hassle. Pleather does NOT breathe or stretch What have you decided April?

I agree the jacket looks fabulous but if it's not comfortable it may become an orphan. Jean has a good point about trying sleeveless tops but this may limit it's versatility. What are you thinking April?

I think we can all agree it looks great April, but if you're going to be wildly uncomfortable in it, return it. You might be happier with a jacket that has some stretch content to it.

The small looks fabulous!

I totally sympathize, April. My upper arms are my body part that seems to dictates what size I buy

There is usually some 'give' in pleather, so it's not extremely constricting, but only you know what you can live with for the comfort vs fit dilemma! Good luck deciding!

I'm not going to be much help. I am notorious for buying my clothes too big and have had to really make a conscious effort to size down since joining YLF. I really do love this look on you. I would keep it if you think that you can make it work, but it in the end it all boils down to will you actually wear it. What is the return policy? If there is a generous return policy, hang on to it as long as you can while you continue looking.

It is funny -- in the photo it doesn't look all that snug, or too small in any way. But I assure you, it is very, very, form-fitting. I may have to wear it with just sleeveless items as you suggested, Jean, and buttoning is not a reasonable option.

Or, at the risk of being an indecisive ninny, maybe I should exchange it yet again for another item? Argh.

Now that I think I'm starting to understand fit a bit better (or at least what my eye likes), I agree that the small looks better. Though I'm with you, I'm not sure how much "snuggery" I could handle.

April,
I like the small and do not think it looks snug. I wear my jackets a bit small because I am sometimes in between sizes and the larger one is never as flattering. For instance I have a jean jacket that is going to be only for sleeveless shirts and dresses. It is perfect for that but would be too small with any layer. I tend to collect jackets and have many in different sizes. If it is an all purpose jacket- it may not work but if you can use it not layered- very cute!

Hmm, after wearing my pleather jacket out, I can safely say it should probably NOT be layered a lot because the material doesn't breathe and you'll probably feel warm. But, if you run cold, maybe you will need to layer more. I'd wear it around and see how it feels.

Oh yes. The arms are particularly snug -- if I have on more than a single thin, close-fitting layer beneath, I can't bend my arms easily.

It looks like it's probably meant to fit this way, I'm just debating whether I can handle this much snuggery.

A couple of weeks ago, I posted photos of a cropped pleather jacket from Zara and there was some feeling that it was a tad big. I had gotten a Medium because the Small couldn't be comfortably buttoned:

http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....ara-jacket

Yesterday, I called Zara and they had a Small, so I braved a nasty storm to make the exchange. Here is the smaller one. It is definitely snug. What do you think?
