Queen St. is my preference as well. Size seems to vary at Zara, but in general what I've tried on runs large. For what it's worth, the Queen St. Stores seem to have a better grade of stock. I spent 2 nights shopping the Eaton Centre last week, and was disappointed by a lot of the clothes. Even the 'better' designer stores. Leather was good, even with Danier closed for renovation, Fossil, Coach, the shoe stores, were interesting.

Agreeing with Suz and Katie either the Eaton centre location or Queen West will do the trick - I'd probably pick Queen West - then you can explore Queen Street. Now here's a tip - the men's cash never seems to have a line up, that' s where I take my purchases and returns.

Yup - Bj is right. I will say, I used to do in store returns and found them a hassle. There are always such line ups!! Whereas popping the box back into the post office is a cinch in comparison. They are good with refunds.

thanks BJ. I will check the store return policy and if I can order online and return in person, then perhaps I will order and just take those items I am not keeping back when in TO.

If you are ok with traipsing to the post office for returns, I would just order multiple sizes of the items you are interested it and try out at home.

Sizing runs very small... No vanity sizing here. I think it's designed to induce insecurity in women if a certain age and body type. And the sizing is inconsistent so knowing how several pairs of pants fit in the store may not tell you how the pants that you want to buy will fit you.

I agree with Ms. KK re the stores. Queen is smaller but usually better organized and less crowded. The others (Eaton Centre, Yorkdale, Bloor) are larger and carry more, but are bearable ONLY if you get there early on a weekday morning. All other times are pandemonium.

To be honest, I have more luck ordering online. A lot of the stuff that's available online won't be in the stores. But you can try a few items on for size to get a general idea -- this can be helpful. You can also check fabrications in person.

If you're visiting downtown Toronto:
- eaton center
- bloor street (between yonge and Bay Street, beside Holt Renfrew)
- Queen street (west of John, east of Spadina)

My personal favourite is the Queen street store only because it's smaller and better organized (and close to work with better lighting in fitting rooms).

Enjoy your shopping!!!

I know there's a good one at Yorkdale but I can't remember what the one at the Eaton Centre is like. I imagine it's a fair size though, as that's the major downtown mall.

I have been to the Zara in Ottawa and the large one in downtown Montreal. I find the shelves to be very picked over - even in Montreal. That being said you can get an idea of sizing and fabrication and buy online if they do not have your sizes.

well, I'm not in Toronto, but I have a Zara near me, I always prefer to go to the store as at Zara the quality and the fit is very uncertain! You never know what you will get.

I have seen quite a few items on the zara website that I really like but am not sure about the sizing. I've been to Zara in a few cities (we don't have one in Winnipeg) and there seems to be a significant difference in the stock of different stores. I am going to be in TO in a few weeks and thought if the Zara there was one of the larger better stocked stores I would wait and try them on instead of ordering and taking the chance that they would need to be returned.

Anyone know if the TO store is worth visiting or am I better off ordering online.
Thanks
