Zara is coming to my city soon and I"m VERY intrigued to check it out - in the past when I've visited them I've found them consistently overwhelming and quite hectic... but I'm excited nonetheless!

LOVE that find for you!

Great shirt! The yellow stripe is a fun detail. Agreed that Zara's website always presents well. The Zara B&Ms I've been into have been fairly organized. Good idea to pre-screen online and try to find in store.

Very cute shirt. I really like how the yellow stripe makes it more than just a blue and white striped shirt.

Zara is exclusively an online magazine for me at this point. I was only introduced to the store when I joined YLF. It’s not convenient for me to get to and my first trip to the store I walked in and walked out the door. It was so crowded I had to leave. I made a point of trying on a low volume shopping day and stayed less than ten minutes. Unorganized and jammed racks. Nothing looked appealing. I haven’t ordered online because I have no idea about sizing.

I live super close to multiple Zara locations and they rarely have the one thing I would want from their website (whatever that might be). Same with Mango. If I could order online I would be quite happy.

Love the new shirt, but then blue and white is my main love for summer, so I never worry about overdosing on that! ;)

I hear you on in-store Zara vs. online. Online is infinitely better for me. I almost never go into the store itself. But I am lucky to get quick deliveries and easy returns where I live from them.

It is a conundrum isn't it...

Shirt is great - and I think it will look great on you and be a perfect summer refresher...

I have had zero success in store in Zara but have seen friends who have lovely items....I think their quick turnover model does not always translate to retail.

I do agree about the benefits of online shopping especially for sizing..but I prefer to see the fabric quality and colour in store often.

That is frustrating. As I live far from a brick-and-mortar Zara store, my own complaint concerns the flip side of the extremely stylish and attractive online catalogue photos: the quality can be so editorial and evocative that the clothes themselves are hard to see. Sometimes I wonder whether odd fits and clumsy tailoring are being obscured by all those windblown, akimbo poses. If possible, I'd like to see the front, back and side of each garment before I commit to an online order. I love the look of your new shirt--nothing looks cooler than blue and white stripes.

A year ago when in NYC I visited my first ever Zara. The entire lower floor was blue and white pinstripes. Which already comprises 1/3 of my spring/summer wardrobe, so I didn't buy. Guess I'm all sorted for this year then.

I love that top. Since I live in Nebraska, I can only dream of stores like Zara. As an aside, I have a friend who INSISTS that high-low tunics like this are terrible because they make her look frumpy at 5-3. I like them for me, a frumpy 5-7, because they cover my bum. I would love a top like this one.

So VIva- the pjs you bought- at first I was thinking they are flamingo pink but I see they are literally pink flamingos- adorable. Reminds me of Florida and the Caribbean. It’s not blue- for sure- lol

Agreed on Zara! They just doubled the size of the one in our mall and now it carries much more of what's online, which is a huge improvement. And it's less crowded and chaotic than it used to be. I hadn't quite realized how awful that particular location had been until they improved it.

At any rate, that shirt is a great find, so I'm glad you didn't have to leave empty handed.

One of the things I really enjoy abut work travel is big-city brick-and-mortar shopping - even if it's really quick. While I was in Chicago this week, I stopped in at the Zara and the Saks on Michigan Avenue. At Saks, I stumbled into a pre-season sale and picked up a great pair of flamingo pjs at 30% off. At Zara, I discovered, yet again, what I love and hate about that brand.

I like to pre-shop for Zara by perusing the website which I really love. The models are always intriguing (great hair!), photography is great, it's easy to navigate. And they have a TON of items. But therein lies the challenge with Zara - no single store offers all of what's on the website. In fact, of the five items I had hoped to try on, I only found one at the store. And while I would have loved to try them on, I'm not quite interested enough to order them. Ugh.

Anyway, I also noticed that blue-and-white stripes are everywhere!!! Don't get me wrong, I love blue (it's dominant in my wardrobe) but all of this has my really jonesing for some deep pink or orange. Anyway, I did make one Zara purchase. It's fun, comfortable, semi-trendy (see added picture for required 2018 bright yellow moment). And, as with all Zara purchases, I am happy to see this as a love affair, not a long-term commitment.

Buyers, beware: it's not all cotton. For me, that's good, because I really don't want to have to iron it. But for purists, 60% is probably not enough.
