I think it has a lot to do with how you wear winter coats. Personally, I think I would wear this all winter long. I wouldn't wear it every day, tho. I would wear it a lot through November and then probably less often through the colder and snowier months. While I run cold, I don't like to be bulky, so a coat like this is actually good for me. With a cashmere sweater underneath and a scarf, I'm pretty good to go in almost any temp I would get in the Maine seacoast as long as it isn't stormy or wet. (I have a thinsulate JCrew peacoat and a hooded down ski jacket as well, both of which serve well during the arctic days.)
